Often times, the desire to own your own business is something that comes naturally. Some say they always felt that vocation and could never imagine working for others.
Others, however, had to spend years working in companies, developing skills, gaining experience; and something happened in their lives that made them change their way. One day they left their job secure and became entrepreneurs. Others dream their whole life of being one, but they never start. And many others don't even think about it. They are clear that "they were not born to be entrepreneurs." Ah… there is another very interesting group: that of the professionals who work all their lives on their own, do not work for anyone, provide their services to a portfolio of clients; but they do not turn their profession into a company. It is an excellent way to achieve financial independence, but they risk being self-employed for many years. If you have always wanted to be an entrepreneur, I motivated you, without knowing you,to take action right now and find where your passion is. If you fail you will find yourself in enormous difficulties. You risk, even your personal life, your life as a couple and many times your health.
Why do they do it then?
It's a passion. It is due to the great satisfactions derived from creating, building, fighting, taking on challenges and moving forward. I have met hundreds of entrepreneurs, many with spectacular results. By talking to them you realize that they are almost obsessed with their business. They are successful, reach their goals and set new ones again. They cannot stop. They accumulate wealth that they could not spend in their lives and move on. Sometimes it seems sick.
Don't think badly, I'm not demotivating you. I tell you what I have seen in almost thirty years working with entrepreneurs. Many of them become aware and manage to take the step that balances their passion for their business with their family and personal lives. This week a client who I consult for times called me; Call me when you have problems or when business gets out of control. Twice in seven years he has told me that he is going to retire. This time he tells me that he has hired a specialized company to sell his company and he wants me to support him in that. Your company is worth a lot of money, but I tell you: if the company sells, I can't imagine doing anything else, nor lying on the shore of the beach having a pina colada. I'll tell you, but I am sure that if he sells, he will invest in some other business.
When you have a passion, you have it for life. True, it is work, but you don't quit because it fills your life. I wanted to write this article because they write to us many times commenting that they want to own their own businesses, they ask where they can get financing to start. Think about this if you are in that situation and if you are starting: before thinking about a business, before looking for financing for your adventure, look for something that is more important: FIND WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL VISION OF LIFE.

Almost without realizing it, it will become your passion; then it will be the illusion that fuels your creativity, your enthusiasm and your energy.
