Various authors have given their opinion on leadership, the former president of the United States Harry Truman said that leadership is the ability to get men to do what they do not like and that they like to do it, Harold Koontz and Heinz Weihrich point out that “ Leadership is the art or process of influencing people so that they voluntarily and enthusiastically strive to achieve group goals ”.

It is practically impossible that there is a group of people who develop their capacities to the maximum together and lack a person suitable for leadership, this person, whom we call a leader, is the one who is at the head of the group.

In companies there are formal leaders; those who have been conferred power by the hierarchy they occupy, and informal leaders; those whose power emerges from the acceptance of the group by their experience, ability or charisma.

The leader, regardless of his formal or informal nature, has a very great commitment to the company and the people who work in it, to be a guide that contributes to the success of the company. For the company's ideal of success to be fulfilled, the leader must be a person well versed in strategy, that is, a strategist.

The word "strategy" comes from the ancient Greek word strategos, which literally means "the head of the army", although the term was coined in the military field today its use has spread to various areas, administration being one of them placing special emphasis on strategic planning.

The strategy is more than a science, it is to apply knowledge to life developing thoughts that allow modifying behavior in ever-changing situations under the pressure of the most difficult conditions.

The success of the company lies in those who have on their shoulders the moral authority and the ability to indicate to people the way forward to achieve the objectives of the company, this man or woman must have the ability to handle difficult situations and people With ingenuity and intelligence, the success or failure of the company can be attributed to how we handle conflicts, so those who are leaders in the company must also be good strategists.
