Information technologies for SMEs

Anonim

The well-known small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) have become important parts of the economy of both our country and the world.

Currently technology has turned out to be vital for SMEs, it must be an integrated tool in the processes of these organizations. It is a catalyst for innovation and transformation in companies.

Increased competitiveness and constant changes in the environment make strategic planning difficult for companies. For this to improve, structures of response capacity must be created, resistance to changes, in itself an integration of technology.

The business development of SMEs occurs in institutions such as the government, universities, consulting firms, cooperation agencies, among others.

Some of the reasons why small and medium-sized companies need new technologies and information systems are due to constant challenges in the market and competition.

Some factors such as the ability of new companies to enter the market, ability of suppliers to exert pressure on the costs of competitors, ability of alternatives to pressure the market and the competitive activity of other companies in combination with technology and globalization produce important changes in business.

Globalization is sweeping away and that is why it is necessary to compete in the most intelligent way possible, creating not only new products, but also creating them with the best quality and diversifying them to displace the inferior ones. That is why many SMEs have chosen to use different information systems.

Something very important that is happening in our country is that small and medium-sized enterprises are being given attention and financial assistance by the World Bank and other organizations, to support their growth and competitiveness, as well as assistance, since the micro enterprises employ up to three Mexicans in the private sector.

Electronic commerce is the progressive process of investing in information and communication technologies, applying them to transform business activities such as market research, production, finance and management.

The funds will support the E-Mexico National System program, the instrument through which the Mexican government intends to lead the country towards a society largely integrated with information technology.

The program is part of a digital process shared between E-Mexico, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), Nacional Financiera (NAFIN) and the Ministry of Economy.

It aims to harness the power of the e-commerce development process for small and medium-sized businesses. This World Bank loan project includes the development of electronic services, ranging from government to small businesses and covering up to ten of the states of Mexico.

“If small businesses in poor urban neighborhoods gain access to the tools offered by information and communication technologies, they will become more productive, they will be able to increase the competitiveness of this sector”, this was commented by the general coordinator of the National System E_Mexico.

This information is extremely important, because SMEs have the motivation, the desire to seek new information technologies and computer systems, only financial help is needed and this is very good news, since by supporting them the World Bank, SMEs will be able to grow and compete with other SMEs around the world.

As can be seen, the information technology (IT) revolution is a historical event, new technologies differ from the previous ones due to the accelerated pace with which they expanded and were inserted into productive activity. It is distinguished by the expansion of economic opportunities stimulated by new technologies and summarized in the integration of markets worldwide.

The investments that companies have made in IT are aimed at reducing costs, intertwining operations and offering new and better services.

Something very important is also the services, these are provided by companies like Compaq, Microsoft and IBM. These have grown considerably in recent years, signing new service contracts, what they do is gradually expand SMEs activities and supply them with technological infrastructure. The PC and the Palm are devices that link networks, communication structures, but technology is a double-edged sword because every day it is more powerful, but also more complex.

Technology in SMEs must be given through the integration of material and human resources, so that by achieving this efficiency there is also an increase in profitability for the company.

The success of SAP has been developed by providing business solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. The company has had a growth of 25% per year since 1994. SAP is an application that is helped by integration to solve all savings in the maintenance of other applications and in collaboration there is decrease in costs, because purchases can be controlled through relationships direct with suppliers and also through digital markets.
