Leadership at the time of demand

I have not found a better way to attack problems and complexity than to cling to the idea of doing everything at the level of Excellence

This safe way of thinking will bring with it a new model of thinking and management in your leaders, opening the door to learning and a culture of growth that permeates every corner of your business.

“When things get difficult and complicated and you cannot find any solution to get out of this state, the only thing that will really get you out of that state is doing everything correctly. You have to try to work at the highest level with your Leadership ”.

How are you closing the year in your business? How do you see the future of your company in a year that is practically around the corner?

These are the two questions most regularly asked by executives and businessmen in our country. It seems that the low growth of our country has affected the entire industry in general and has diminished the motivation of many entrepreneurs.

On the one hand, the low growth forecast in the country (0.9%), an increase in the unemployment rate (6%) are sufficient arguments to visualize in many cases problems for the close of the 2013 financial year. As a consequence of this and in addition to The Economic Reform is forecasting a low level of growth for 2013 or even zero in many cases, due to the increase in taxes in many areas that erode not only the ability to invest in companies, but also the level of consumer purchases.

This forces us to resize our business in all its magnitude, that is, to achieve greater productivity and efficiency in all corners of the organization, which also implies as a consequence, a change in the way of leading our human teams, because I do not There is no doubt that in many cases they will be smaller, and they will have to be more productive, without losing of course the attention in the most important thing for our business: The Client. In this sense, I consider it relevant to speak again of the concept of Excellence, as the most effective way to find safe ways to achieve more and better results through the highest productivity and efficiency.

The time has come to appeal to Excellence in everything we do in order to get out of our problems and to be able to face a future with a greater probability of coming out stronger. It is time to make the best talents and treat them well in our offices as well as give them the opportunity to stand out and thank them for what they do for the organization and for our Clients. It is time to believe that the gigantic is much better than the simply enormous and that we have the possibility of doing much more for ourselves and for our Clients if we decide to always do the right thing!

Hard times or incomparable opportunity? The way you answer this question will be the culture of your organization!

I've always thought that what is a disaster for some is the best opportunity! for others. I think therein lies the difference between success and failure. If you frequently walk into the market, you will find that there are a myriad of businesses that are making a big difference against their competitors. There in these businesses, the fundamental thinking is "to seize the clients of the weakened competitors as soon as possible". So while some sleep and complain bitterly about the prevailing situation, the successful ones are focused on not sleeping for a second until they reach a level of perception in the clients that indicates that they are the ones who are doing and giving an unforgettable experience. for them. And remember… Perception equals Reality!

I believe that crises are only a test of character, and it is the great opportunity to show ourselves what we are made of. Testing our leadership level is not something easy, because it puts us face to face in front of the mirror and if we are not doing things well, we may see ourselves as we are, and we will not necessarily like that, but ultimately it is what customers see. of our performance.

You must launch an obsessive message in your company to achieve great results with customers and for the gross income line. As Horst Schulze, the legendary CEO of the Ritz-Carlton, used to say during the US recession, “I will not accept the explanation that the recession has a negative effect on startups. There are still people who travel. All we have to do is get them to stay at our hotel ”.

It is this internal force of the leaders that helps the organization to grow and to rise above its competitors. It is this display of character that differentiates the little ones from the big ones. This is how you win, Period!

In this context, one must develop within the company, an unbridled mania to obtain the best results, and this is achieved when its leaders are willing to give everything and more for those they serve. When they wished themselves to leave nothing to try.

Thinking differently must already be a constant in good times and bad, that means putting yourself at risk, which will keep your senses at their best, ready to be used to get ahead in each goal or task that you intend to carry out.

Invest in the development of your staff, don't stop even when things outside seem chaotic, as the growth of your people is one of the few things that you will have to manage when the going gets tough. In times of complexity, you need the best soldiers, not a weak army that at the sound of any war drum stops! So be ready to invest in your people as much as you can, because you will have to defend yourself against the attacks of the market, the economy, social problems, etc., but above all from your competitors, because they will be willing to do what is necessary (Differentiation) to take the share of the market that is affordable to your penetration interests and to satisfy your appetite for reaching the gross income and profits expected in your business plan.

"If what you want is to go far with your Team, stop things and invest in their permanent development"

His real job in the company he runs is to unleash the potential of the leaders who are in every corner of his organization. You have to force yourself to discover them and you have to make the decision to invest in their growth and development.

Leaders are ordinary people in the eyes of others, but they have great determination to do great things. They do not panic at the looming panorama when it is difficult, but neither do they soften when it represents a certain ease to overcome it. They just always give their all and dare to think and do like nobody else does. So look for them, bring them closer to you, develop them and for no reason let them go, because you will need them when you least think about it to get out of the crises that come along the way.

You invest in each one and you invest in team play. Both things are learned and require constant practice. It's a never-ending game, but the option is really worth considering if you're looking to shield your organization and fill it with results.

The market demands the best of the best in all ranks. From the selection of your inputs or raw materials, attracting talent, quality processes and operational efficiency, etc., to the distribution, price and customer service processes. This is how you can position yourself in the market and out of the reach of your competitors.

It is not about complicated processes, but about reaching the hearts of customers by doing with them what no one dares. It is about maximizing results through the people that we have had to lead. Ultimately, it is about abandoning the idea of doing what we have always done, because if we are not willing to change, any attempt will be sterile.

Many organizations today are dying to cling to the past. Those companies that only dedicate themselves to managing resources are betting to lose and are neglecting the great possibility of exposing the potential of their business by accrediting the value of their people. I insist on Miguel Ángel's phrase: "It is not that we aim too high and fail, it is that we aim too low and get it right."

The mental model you want to see printed in your company depends on you. We can help you if you need it.

Reciprocity

The winners think like this:

  1. If possible!. If there is with what!. We are going to achieve it!. It depends on me !.

"Thinking differently must already be a constant if you want to differentiate yourself in the market, so dedicate yourself to questioning whether you really add value to the customer with what you do."

“Companies that are ahead of their competitors in the market, also go very far from them in the work of growing their people. They obsessively dedicate themselves to investing in its development and its permanent satisfaction ”.
