Leadership resides in the ability to lead other people to a destination they would never go alone. Joel Barker.

I. Presentation

Peter Drucker said: "No one should be appointed to a managerial position if their vision is focused on the weaknesses, rather than the strengths of the people." Focusing on the strengths of its collaborators is not in the orthodox management manual, because the so-called administrative science has focused on making the paradigm prevail of making managers believe that running companies is the result of conceiving it as a machine where people they must be considered and treated as resources.

For orthodox management control; the hierarchy; the command; submission; the obedience; the repetition; maintaining the status quo, are determining variables that characterize the way of doing management, even in today's world.

It is relevant to remember that when administrative theory was born at the end of the last century and the beginning of the past, the business reality was very different from the reality that companies must face today, of course cooperatives are included in them.

For that reality, it was respectable to understand that the figure of the foreman, as an entity that was in charge of keeping the workers within a strict regime of obedience in strict adherence to the job manuals, his responsibility was similar to those of the generals of an army, give orders and define forms to ensure that they were carried out to the letter.

Many business managers today still use these methods. We then ask ourselves: Does this form of management work? We could possibly say yes, but this type of company or cooperative would not cease to be one more than the average that has to compete in the so-called red oceans.

If we now ask ourselves: What are the results that a team of people who seek to surprise today's market with innovative products and services that make the company or cooperative leader in the market should give? The answer would be that with orthodox management, that would be impossible, this would require leadership at the highest level.

This type of leadership is not based on classifications of types of leaders, nor on the answer to the hackneyed question if leaders are born or made, no, leadership is a way of living in organization, and living in organization is part of the simple fact that companies and cooperatives are the product of what their people are when they interact seeking results that none of them can achieve when they act individually.

Leadership based on the paradigm: "Don't grade my exam, help me get the best grade", begins its action with a unique alliance between each cooperator and their leader. Its objective, first of all, lays the foundations to reach an agreement on what is expected to be achieved as a result of the alliance, where there will only be one winner, the leader-collaborator binomial.

The leader is responsible for the learning of his pupil, acting as a coach, as a teacher, as a servant and as a designer of the new realities where the pupil will develop. The action of the coach is not oriented to indicate what to do, to give the answers, but rather to open her mind so that she discovers her answers in her knowledge.

Albert Einstein once said: "Learning is experience, everything else is information." The collaborator, when discovering their own answers, develops, commits and feels capable of always going further, of inventing new solutions to old and hackneyed problems, that is, in this way the feeling of creativity, innovation and of continuous change in a natural way.

Leadership is, then, a force that creates amalgamation in the company, which encourages working for the tribe, which is a superior stage to teamwork.

Let's define in principle and in a generic way what is a team and what is a tribe.

A team is basically determined by the place where people work or play not all the time, their bond is temporary and fundamentally the product of a contractual situation in which the members are compelled to perform.

Instead, a tribe is a place in which one is an incumbent because the fundamental and radical link between the individual and the tribe is a powerful feeling of belonging. A team generally has a very dominant emphasis on results, the team is conformed to carry out ad hoc tasks, while the tribes, in addition to considering the achievements something very important, have special esteem in the values; In tribes, just the fact of coinciding with meaningful values and purposes makes people willing to collaborate voluntarily and passionately.

Two keywords, voluntarily and passionately, in the concept of tribal leadership based on the paradigm "do not grade my exam, help me get the best grade", because based on them engagement and collaboration are achieved in the performance of a job synergistic, every leader's dream.

From this, organizations start the journey towards excellence, knowledge management, innovation and creativity to compete intelligently in the creation of their blue oceans, where competition and business success is based on creating new markets in a way keep going.

To finish or to start a new debate, the dice are in the air, and it is up to us to influence the way in which it is convenient for us to fall, we do not hope that it is a matter of luck, but of influencing the future of our organizations with our intelligence, the future is in our hands, whether we take advantage of it or let it go is our decision.

"Innovation is what distinguishes the leader from his followers." Steve Jobs.

"The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader fixes the sails ”. John Maxwell.
