Comparative librarianship in Latin America has had little development but thanks to authors such as: Rendón Rojas, Miguel Ángel among others, who have made the existence of relevant literature in this area which has allowed the dissemination of important works.

A meticulous reading of some of the work that has been done in comparative librarianship and the competence that exists in librarianship to continue discovering more and more, shows a meager display of the interest of the librarian for this career to have an important role in the society.

Comparative librarianship in Latin America has had little development but thanks to authors such as: Rendón Rojas, Miguel Ángel among others, who have made the existence of relevant literature in this area which has allowed the dissemination of important works.

They do not cease their research in search of more recognition of this matter through all the methods that library science can use, and it remains a humanistic science, the latter being highlighted as the most important of their research.

It is good to know that more can be done every day in this field of librarianship, but we still have a lot to do, discover and make known, we must continue to encourage the user to understand that librarianship is not just one more but must leave the lots to see its importance.

Although it is true that Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia is where most contributions have been made in our Latin America, the Dominicans and the conglomerate of the other countries of the Caribbean and Central America, we have to get ahead making contributions from our own experiences.

We believe that colleagues should be motivated more, given more support so that they give more life to our career. Just as a doctor has to burn the eyelash, we also do it and we contribute significantly to culture and education.

It is time to overcome the taboo of believing that Library Science is not even studied. Well, even at the same university you ask yourself, and when giving our answer, we receive a sometimes derogatory "… and Librarianship is studied and I thought not." Of course, because the career is a profession and it deserves theoretical and technical knowledge.

Public libraries represent an intermediate space between school and home having an opportunity to socially relate.

In our world, as a result of social and economic advancement, forms of isolation are produced, making the difference between rich and poor every day deeper and the separation growing, without there being economic or social projects that allow the solution of that situation.

Socially we feel the need for libraries as we need countless services. Libraries in that order become active in the development and construction of civic citizenship.

The book as an interactive tool develops the mind, the imagination and cannot be substituted by any other means of information for its characteristics.

One of the values that public libraries represent is that they lend, they do not sell, these values go beyond offering services to those who cannot pay for them.

We must each contribute a grain of sand so that we can achieve the objective that the individual expects from the library in society, with less isolation, marginality and racial and cultural conflicts in our community than through libraries to find greater security, attention for high self-esteem.

In our country, there is not an adequate level of development, there is a certain negligence on the part of the authorities and the media, which are from a certain point of call to face the libraries, even knowing that in the same proportion as a country invest in the development of culture and education in that same proportion the development of that country grows.

The main thing is that we join the vanguard of the profession in Latin America, making contributions and with professional pride. And I invite my colleagues to feel that satisfaction of being a professional of books and culture when they say "I am a librarian".

«In one of the Saturday classes in Comparative Librarianship, we realized that we were talking about many different topics, without leaving the main objective of the subject, which was to establish the basic contents and the importance of Librarianship as a science.

«On that occasion we had the great opportunity to recognize once again that in our hands is the responsibility of being an echo and disseminator of knowledge, through library work.

«We are making progress with regard to the degree as such, although it is true that many are those who do not know that this degree is taught, or that they are studying to be a librarian, but it is our duty as students or professionals to echo that if it is studied, it is taught in the universities mainly in the autonomous university of santo domingo.

"It was also established on clear criteria that librarianship is a science, that it has an object of study, and what about the library that is our laboratory, an important classroom for cultural action.

"We want to end with this phrase by Brown Cesar, who affirms that" It is the most relevant library in library science and space, where all activities are carried out and methods and principles are applied. "
