How to discover your innate talents

Anonim

A few months ago a friend telephoned me very shocked to tell me that she had lost her job. In addition to the sadness and outrage caused by being unfairly fired after 10 years, her biggest fear was having to look for a job again, especially since she was over forty years old.

If you have ever gone through this adventure you will know what I mean, going in search of a job in an asphalt jungle where there is a lot of competition and low wages is quite demotivating.

Not to mention how cumbersome and overwhelming the process of sending a significant number of CVs and applications is, going to the interviews and everything involved in the job search and achievement process.

With all this, my friend's case was even worse, since being fired in an unfair way gave her a very hard blow to her self-esteem, she felt bitter and resentful with her old employers, the lost faith in herself had her plunged in a depression that did not allow her to get out of her worry and her bad mood, she felt tired, lacked energy and all her bad mood was discharged into her two young children.

I remember that at that time I told him everything I could to boost his morale, maybe we spent more than an hour on the phone and I told him that I had seen myself in a situation similar to yours, which to date I thank God infinitely since it marked a huge change in my life and that at that moment I could not see the good locked in the apparently bad situation but that God works in mysterious ways and everything happens for a reason.

I assured him that there was no illness that would last 100 years and that this storm would soon pass.

In addition to all the positive things that I said to him, I promised to send him by mail a vocational test full of exercises that I did some time ago and that helped me discover my innate talents and abilities, this has made my working life much easier and also It has given many economic and moral incentives.

Well, as promised, I mailed this test to my friend and she passed the time, she called me from time to time to tell me that she was focused on doing the exercises in this questionnaire and that the illusion of being able to find her true purpose in Life had awakened the motivation he needed to continue his job search.

He also promised me that once he discovered his true vocation he would not rest until he could dedicate himself 100% to it.

For about a month and a half, he looked for work in the traditional way and at night he spent time on his vocational test, which, once completed, gave the following information:

  • Ideal setting: office Skills: Organization, improvisation, preparation, power of conviction, public speaking (speaking as the main skill) excellent memory, easy recall, problem solving, attention to detail initiative, patient, assertive, diplomatic, ability to lead and send.

With all this new discovery, my friend realized that she loved working in offices, she also liked to talk a lot and was good at speaking in public but she was not attracted by having too much responsibility to apply for a management job, for her it was preferable to depend on someone who would make big plans and she would break them down into small goals. She also had the power to direct staff and use her creative talents and great memory for numbers and statistics.

She decided to put all this information on her resumes and continued to distribute them now with these new characteristics of herself that she had discovered, in a few days she received a call from who is her current boss to ask her to visit him since she apparently had found the ideal person for a new position that he had in mind for a long time but had not decided to hire or advertise in the newspaper because he simply had not had time to describe the exact guidelines that that specific position would entail, in addition it was impossible to train a person in no time for that position.

But when she saw my friend's resume, where the activities he needed were so widely described, Mr. «X» realized that she was the person he was looking for, in that same phone call Mr. «X »She told my friend that she was delighted with that exact description of her skills and the kind of work she would like to do and told her that he was not willing to let her go, she even gave her the choice of her own salary.

As you can imagine, my friend got that job, a totally new position, with a much better salary than the one she earned in her previous job, a kind treatment from her new boss and besides feeling valued now she dedicates herself to an activity that love it.

Consider the following:

  1. The only difference between a life of success and failure is often as small as a vocational test. When you are looking for a job, it is necessary that you present advantages that make you stand out from other people, that you present yourself as what you are, a being Valuable human, full of talents Indicating your skills in the resume denotes that you are a person concerned about knowing yourself, knowing more about herself and with this you can get you to be hired, out of 40 people who are applying for a position. Life is a process of constant growth, if you feel stuck in your current job, you probably need to consider a career change, you can only do that by taking a vocational test. If you don't know yourself, nobody will know you; if you don't know how much you are worth,No one is going to give you what you really want to earn. If you don't grow up you are falling behind, and that is unnatural if you continue like this remember very well the following: «Life will cost dearly when it comes to doing accounts»

Why not chase your dreams?

Why stay behind a desk your whole life? Maybe you have the talent of a Van Gogh or a Frida Kahlo, maybe you are the next spiritual guide the world is waiting for or the doctor who will find the cure for AIDS.

Dream big! There's a reason you're here! Awake!

Think about the huge change you could make to your life if you just discovered your innate talents and put them to work, imagine that instead of crawling from bed to shower every day, you would jump up out of bed with a feeling of excitement and emotion because you dedicate yourself to what you love, something that you are passionate about.
