Staff training and worker performance

Anonim

Staff training is of great importance within organizations since this is the main factor in the performance of workers, within companies there is little contribution and positive response to the needs of the company.

Training means training the person according to the area they are in to prepare them for any circumstance that may arise when carrying out their work, this will lead us to create self-sufficient people.

For Werther and Davis (2008: 148), “the training of personnel helps the members of the organization to carry out their current job, their benefits can extend to their entire working life and can help in the development of that person to fulfill future responsibilities ”

For Chiavenato (2011: 322), "staff training is the short-term process applied in a systematic and organized way, through which people acquire knowledge, develop skills and competencies based on defined objectives."

In my opinion, staff training is nothing more than constant training to hone the skills and attitudes of workers to perform tasks correctly under supervision, and then they are allowed to work alone and they train other people, this will give us a support in the quality and productivity of the product or service offered as an organization.

When the employee has adequate education and training, he is much more motivated to give something back to the company. An employee who does not have adequate training feels unmotivated because he lacks the knowledge necessary to perform on the job. This results in low productivity and bad jobs that ultimately damages the entire organization.

With training programs it will be possible to develop or rather exploit the skills and knowledge of each member of the organization, it is necessary to determine specific strategies to carry out a certain job so that is where the performance of the worker is related to the training being adequate for meet the objectives of the company.

The performance of the worker can be measured through the results of a company since it is the constant indicator of the optimal or poor function of the worker towards his responsibilities, that is to say, it is the way in which the worker will indicate to us in what way he is carrying out the work established according to the goals to be achieved by the organization.

Bittel (2000: 256), argues that "worker performance is largely influenced by the employee's expectations about the job, their attitudes towards achievement and their desire for harmony. Therefore, performance is related or linked to the skills and knowledge that support the actions of the worker, in order to consolidate the company's objectives ”.

If we had adequate training for each worker in companies, the worker's efficiency would be optimal since it would meet all the established objectives of the organization, there would be no bad jobs or extra expenses due to employee errors, with good training the Integration of the entire work team since when motivated, productivity rates increase, and the profitability of the company grows by improving processes.

In the absence of adequate training for each worker, their performance is low, that is, they are in a state of conformism and apathy since there is no interest in doing the work that corresponds to them, and if they do it, they do it poorly. Workers become ignorant due to lack of knowledge, outdated and obsolete due to not being trained, this leads to poor performance and poor progress.

One of the first steps in personnel training is to establish concrete and measurable objectives in order to determine the needs within the company and at the same time give continuity to the process to achieve the success of the program.
