1. INTRODUCTION

Currently one of the problems affecting tourism development in the Sucre canton in the northeast of the province of Manabí is the lack of information and promotion of its tourist resources and attractions, for this reason it is a not very developed activity, the which should be of greater importance for both the municipalities and associations, because tourism promotes the economy by improving people's lifestyle. The Sucre canton is located to the North-east of the Manabí province, it has a population of 57,159 inhabitants. On October 21, 1867 the first creation of the Sucre canton occurs and on November 3, 1875, it is definitively legalized and the first constitutive act is signed. Its cantonal head is the city of Bahía de Caráquez. The current mayor for the period 2014 - 2019 is Mr. Manuel Gilces.

According to (Rivera SC, 2009) tourist attraction is defined as the set of material elements that are capable of being transformed into a tourism product that has the capacity to influence the decision-making process of the tourist, but (Corbuse-turismo, 2011) argues that the tourist attractions are those characteristics and points of interest for tourists that attract their attention and attract travelers.

Regarding the previous appointments, we can express that tourism is an activity that is carried out consciously or unconsciously, since when we leave our homes and travel to another place, either for a few days, we are already doing tourism when contracting either hotel services. or gastronomic or visiting the different attractions that the area has for how insignificant this seems we are already doing tourism. It is an activity where tourists enjoy a free space where they have no worries and can enjoy the different recreational facilities that the area has and at the same time doing activities such as water sports and extreme sports different from those of their place of residence.

As it refers (Silberman, 2012) The tourist attractions are classified in Natural and cultural, (López, 2012) tells us that the tractors are the main attraction factor.

There are natural attractions and created goods built by the hand of man: cultural, historical, religious, recreational, contemporary, among others.

In the Sucre canton, tourist tracts are very unknown to tourists since they do not have a good promotion, nor is there any adequate space for tourists, whether national or foreign, to request information about the different attractions that the canton has, within the canton there are a number of attractions natural attractions, as well as created goods, a proposal to publicize the attractions would be to put signs to promote tourism development.

The city of Bahía de Caráquez called the cradle of Ecuadorian nationality, which in turn is attributed the name of THE CITY WITHOUT COPY recognized by residents, emigrants and tourists, both national and international. This prestigious city its main attraction is its captivating, fun beaches, as well as its gastronomy without a doubt one of the most exquisite within the province of Manabí, of course not of our country and its kind people considered one of the calmest and safe at the level of the Ecuadorian national spa.

Among the tourist varieties that the prestigious Canton undoubtedly possesses, we can say that the Canton Sucre has a tourist power not only within its locality but worldwide due to our variety of tourist attractions, let us not only talk about its beaches, which also has a dry hill reserve, also a forest in the midst of the ruins of the devastating phenomenon of the child, and of course its captivating heart island, where the most beautiful, beautiful and exotic birds from all over the world arrive, which arrive to mate seasonally, speak of one of each of them in if there would be any word of its beautiful tourist attractions.

These representative sites where you can enjoy both its landscapes and its culture are located in the parishes of San Jacinto and San Clemente, with beaches, night attractions and sports for tourists to enjoy. Also considered the productive activities in regard to rice crops, fruit productions that not only represent a productive activity but also the existence of some species of migratory birds and endemic animals in the area depending on the times of the year.

According to the data registered by the Ministry of Tourism and other organizations, I have established data from 2015 on tourists visiting Ecuador, among the foreigners who visit the country the most, we have Americans, a total of 6 tourists arrive in Manabi. % of which 3% arrive in the canton of Sucre. The reason for their arrival in the canton is to discover its different attractions and resources that the area has, such as its beaches, recreation centers, handicrafts, gastronomy, customs.

As pointed out (Bernardez, 2011) Tourist Resource They are the natural, cultural, traditions, customs and events that a certain area or area has, with a potential that could capture the interest of visitors, but in turn (Alvarez, 2012) The Tourist Resources are the base on which the tourist activity is developed and are constituted by those attractions that, in a tourist destination, can generate the interest that influences the choice of the same and motivating the displacement or the visit by the potential consumer.

Regarding the previous appointments we can emphasize that the tourist resources of a site are all those characteristics that make the difference from one place to another site. Each tourist site has resources but it is their specialty that makes the difference and turns a site into something more interesting.

Within the canton we can say that the tourist impact that our city emblem benefits us since we have a great variety of striking places that involve the attraction of this region, with the help of the municipality or other public and private organizations, which they fill with pride the work that has been done jointly with the people who live on this site.

In the Canton we have emblematic attractions that have diversity and attraction, both of the people who visit us and take fond memories of our city there is also what everyone consistently accesses, in these cases the internet, which tourists with their cell phones or web pages highlight the outstanding landscapes, and comments that are taken in positive opinions as to improve our beautifying Canton.

Although we have the ecological city to keep our streets and beaches clean, even so we should not worry, motivating ourselves towards a better tomorrow, the tourist destination best appreciated by tourists for its tranquility and being a very safe city in its streets, possessing some beautiful beaches where you can practice any type of water sport and visit our paradisiacal heart island where you can get a view of the mangroves in the estuary of the Chone river, canoeing through it and see all its glorious magnificence of what God has blessed us with. in the beautifying landscape that the place gives us, also the view of the Cross from the highest point of the city of Bahía de Caráquez.

We also enjoy a shopping center that is in front of our estuary and what a privilege to have the bridge called "Los Caras", the longest in the country and even in South America, that all people both local and from other sides take photos to a pleasant memory of this splendid city of Bahía de Caráquez, and despite its neighboring parishes that enjoy very emblematic places that make us the Canton with the highest hierarchy in hotel and commercial activity, We have a climate with great reception and benefits for tourists.

Research is a consistent option of opportunities existing in the environment with the sole purpose of looking for options for the city to have a better economy, this controversy is of vital importance today for tourism growth.

P ROBLEMATICA

The Sucre canton has a poor characterization of tourist attractions and resources, also taking into account poor territorial and tourist planning and access to attractions in poor condition.

How do the tourist attractions and resources of the canton contribute to tourism development?

As a general objective is to prepare a Magazine of the different tourist attractions and resources and their respective access routes and tourist services that can be offered to different tourists, whether national or foreign.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • Identify the different attractions that exist in the canton for their respective potentialization. Establish strategies to help the tourist development of the Sucre canton.

The tourist sites that exist within the Sucre canton meet the expectations of the visitors, the tourist attractions identified in the area are totally pleasing to national and international visitors who come to them in different seasons.

It is of utmost importance to show the tourist attractions that the area has to potentiate them and in this way, help tourism development and encourage people to enjoy the best places they have and obtain more acceptance from tourists and to return in another chance.

3 - THEMATIC DEVELOPMENT

Within the tourist attractions that our canton has, we have a great variety of sites which favors us in the towns that are installed in them, generating non-representative economic income, in its cultural heritage, in the visits made by both national and international tourists, favoring us in each sector so that its tourist impact is generated both by word of mouth and also on the web pages that makes our canton privileged as one of the tourist powers of the province of Manabí.

Tourism in Ecuador constitutes an important activity that has been growing in recent years. There are several attractions that stand out when talking about our canton. However, there are many others that, due to lack of promotion, are not sufficiently known both nationally and internationally.

STAGES FOR THE ELABORATION OF THE INVENTORY OF TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

For (Sigcho, 2013), it refers to the following steps to carry out an inventory of tourist attractions:

  • Classification of the attractions.- Consists of clearly identifying the category, type and subtype, to which the attraction to inventory belongs. Information Collection.- In this phase the attractions are tentatively selected for which their relevant characteristics are investigated. This investigation phase is documentary, the information of which must be obtained from the offices related to its management. Field Work.- Consists of a visit to the sites to verify information on each attraction. It is the procedure by which the characteristics are assigned to the attractiveness. Evaluation and Ranking

As referenced (MINCETUR, 2006) The inventory of tourist resources comprises two phases of work:

Phase I.- Order and classify the places, objects, events and others of tourist interest of the tourist resources of the country, region or determined area. Process that refers to the collection of information, ordering and classification of data.

Phase II.- Evaluation and ranking of tourist resources, which includes the process of weighting resources, in order to determine their degree of importance.

In this way we can say that hierarchization allows us to better understand each attraction we wish to reach and thus promote the destination with the appropriate tools to obtain greater demand and thus benefit both the canton and its inhabitants.

4 - POPULATION

P oblation, for the development of the research, the total population of the last census carried out in 2010 will be taken into account. With an estimate of 57,159 inhabitants, as reflected in the statistic shown below:

Population statistical table of the Sucre canton

With a humid climate, because it is surrounded by the Cerro Seco Biological Reserve, Chirije was an important economic locality in the Bahía Culture (500 BC - 500 AD), especially for its port activity. Tourism resources are places capable of attracting visitors and are the basis of development

resources in the area exist everywhere but the important thing is that they are exploited. I refer to the essential resources of the canton.

9.1. ISLA DE LAS FRAGATAS

Its name is due to the fact that frigate birds, also called pirates, predominate in the place. These birds are very sensitive to noise and human voices, they express their anger by expelling the food they keep for their young. The floor of the island is made of mud and sand, finding clams, shells, mussels, and the Isla de las Fragatas is located in the Chone river estuary just 30 minutes from Bahía de Caráquez.

The roof has a steep slope and theatines, skylights and clock tower with pyramidal capital and peripheral roof cornice, in the structure seen from the roof, torque and modified knuckle are used.

The La Merced Church is located in the Sucre canton, in the Bahía de Caráquez parish, Its original style is preserved because the church has maintenance, which has allowed it to remain, it is of very old origin in the region because of its doctrines it is built in the city of Bahía de Caráquez from 1906 to 1992.

The island of the birds is a small island in front of the estuary of the Chone river that has a great variety of bird species among them: pelicans, herons, patillo among others. This site is not so well known but this place is extraordinary for ecological, recreational and adventure tourism.

In this place the main attraction is the variety of birds here the tourist will be able to enjoy its calm and crystalline waters, which ensure that the traveler feels confident to enjoy without any risk, in the place you can collect clams, crabs in this site you can do artisanal fishing either by casting or trammel.

CONCLUSIONS

Among the most explanatory conclusions that I can highlight are the following

  • The characterization of tourist tracts and resources was carried out in order to collect information on the different attractions that the canton has so that visitors have the ease of being able to know and how to get to each attraction. Through the visit that was made to learn more From each attraction I was able to dialogue with the inhabitants of each sector and they consider tourism to be an important economic activity. The tourism sector of the Sucre canton has the elements to have an economic activity that compensates for the negative effects caused by the different problems it experiences after the earthquake. Tourism is a phenomenon that seeks the growth of social and economic development, and no one can deny that tourism has favored the growth of the canton. It is concluded that the Sucre canton has tourist potential that needs to be exploited and recognized to have a greater influx of tourists, both national and international, and to increase the economic development of the area.
