Tips for developing the perfect resume

Anonim

The perfect resume is one that allows you to set up an interview or an appointment with just your submission. For this to happen it is important to remember that your resume is the first contact or approach that you give of your experience to the recipient; it is his image and professionalism. How to make the perfect curriculum ?.

Imagine the following scene: He sees himself to eat with a former schoolmate, or with an old acquaintance, and during the discussion a vacancy in his company or a problem in the area that is just his specialty arises and follows the flow of the talk, you propose to help him and you get the answer: "I love the idea, send me your Curriculum!".

This is undoubtedly a common scene for many of us. And before this scene I pose three scenarios; the first when it is the first time that one makes his CV and one responds: Yes, of course I will send it to you! And at the same time the heartbreaking question of "How do I do it?" Begins.

In response to this, one finds out, asks and elaborates one, sends it. The second scenario is a little more common, you have your CV made and send it to your friend by e-mail, and that was the point, there is nothing else later. And the third is rare, but feasible: "But if I am the owner of my business, why should I send him my CV if I do not want to hire myself? Besides, I have never done one." In any of the 3 cases, one finds himself before the situation of obtaining or a job or a project and one does not know what to do but one depends on a CV. Why?

Basically the answer to why is because the objective of a CV is none other than to obtain an interview (which can be an appointment, in the case of someone independent) and that is lost sight of and the objective is not achieved and of course the opportunity for a new job or business or that the interest that may have for us or our company falls apart.

So from my perspective, the perfect resume is one that allows you to set up an interview or an appointment with just your submission. For this to happen it is important to remember that your resume is the first contact or approach that you give of your experience to the recipient; it is his image and professionalism. It is still a marketing aspect and it is essential to keep in mind who is the target market (who is going to read it) and that what is offered (product) is what the market is willing to buy, that of course, includes the valuation that one does of his work (which would be equivalent to the price in marketing) and that this is not a reason for doubt for who offers it. When you sell a product on the market, when asked the question "How much does it cost?" We answer: "What you offer" (or "what you pay",continuing with our contracting analogy). Of course not !, one must be located in what market it is (what in marketing would be positioning).

A CV is a tool, and a very powerful one if it is used and used wisely. It is important to always keep it updated and highlight our experience based on who will read it; so, when we hear: "I love the idea, send me your Curriculum!" We will know that this is only the beginning of what could be a long-term relationship and that it is up to us to do so.
