Tips for leading the generation and

Anonim

As I mentioned in the previous article, there is a marked difference between the 2 generations (xy) that hinder labor relations, and even more so if it is the boss-subordinate relationship. We constitute a good challenge for leaders, due to our tendency to question and put into discussion the established management paradigms.

The important thing is to achieve an adaptation that allows improving these relationships, polishing communication channels and promoting a better work environment.

Although our commitment is not with the organization, (because we distrust it), we do commit ourselves with people, and for this reason, the role of the Leader within organizations is very important.

These are the main tips when it comes to leading our generation:

• Situational Leadership: Authority must be built by example and not by demonstrating power. They must build trust, let us know what they expect from us, and be assertive when setting expectations agreements, forms of control, and performance evaluations. For this reason, the best leadership style to apply in these cases is situational and never authoritarian or paternalistic, since we value advice, support, recognition and seek to be led comprehensively,

• Generate Challenges: Conformity does not enter our scale of values, so they must challenge us to lead projects, rather than manage tasks, do not allow us to stagnate, the challenge is our basis for labor action.

We are people oriented to action, we need new objectives, and feedback at the right times.

• Honesty: Among the values most recognized by us, is integrity, we prefer an "I don't know" over a lie. Be honest and clear with us. Be consistent with your thoughts

• Positive Work Climate: we empower ourselves in a creative environment, with good relationships, and a work climate, where our contribution is valued, and freedom of thought.

If the leader learns to harness and harness the real potential of our generation, he would achieve greater effectiveness at the business level: we have good interpersonal relationships, a great tendency for lateral thinking, a new vision about the management of people in organizations and access to technology. All this places us above other people when facing projects and organizational changes.

We are causing positive changes in companies, such as flexible hours, training opportunities and mobility, which in the long run is for everyone. Some say that we are encouraged to set limits that other generations could not.

Ideally, you can combine and strike a balance between Generation X experience, perseverance, and long-term guidance with Generation Y's spontaneity, drive, and creativity.

If companies succeed, it will be an excellent opportunity to build great work teams, professionally empowering and managing differences to continue growing and improving as high-level companies in this changing world.
