When one process receives output from another process, both processes are within a sequential array. In these processes the transformation of raw materials obeys a series of sequential stages, that is, the production is carried out through two or more processes, in such a way that the finished production is a process that constitutes totally or partially the direct material of the following process.
Mass production, also called line or chain production, involves the continuous influx of materials from one operation to the next and is used for mass production of a uniform product.
Multiple or parallel production regime
Parallel processes operate independently of each other. The production of one of these parallel processes does not become the raw material for another process. The transformation of raw materials is carried out through two or more processes that are simultaneous and independent of each other, but which, if necessary, at the end of that stage, or in the next, can be transformed into consecutive ones.
Joint, simultaneous or divergent regime
Characteristic of these industries is the fact that starting from a basic raw material that can be subjected to one or several initial transformation processes, it breaks, separates or subdivides, simultaneously arising various products or semi-products in which last case, each of these is It will undergo one or more of its own transformation processes, until obtaining the various articles produced.
