Four elements of innovation to apply in your personal life

Anonim

It is not just because it is one of my favorite topics that I choose to write about innovation. But because it is the window to many possibilities that take us to another level. Let's start from a basic definition that allows us to grasp the subject: " innovation is doing new things or improving existing ones to give more or better results ".

For the vast majority of us, it is easier to understand concepts through examples, using a couple of past experiences to share reflections on innovation and how we can bring it to our personal environment.

In the first case, we have an organization that presents its reinvention plan, where it shows how it will reach another level without abandoning its fundamental principles. His strategy is to use various forms, which allow him to strengthen relationships with his group and at the same time facilitate the integration of more people. I was very impressed with the ideas proposed and totally new, which anticipate the needs of your interest group. They also have a clear strategy and an action plan to achieve their objective. It is more than clear that they know who they are and where they want to go and I have no doubt that they exceeded their expectations.

The second case was a technological conference. This event was supported by a company, whose intention is to show new trends in an area of knowledge that influences business dynamics. What undoubtedly caught my attention was the excellent participation of the speaker, arousing the concern to transform professionally to increase value in the corporate environment. Its proposal is based on the adoption of methodologies and good practices that aim to obtain concrete benefits. In other words, it proposes a way to obtain more valuable results.

With reference to the previous cases, let's take some elements that have a practical application on a personal level:

• Innovation always leads to improvement. I like to think of this as a gain, both horizontally and vertically. In simpler words, we can improve a skill that we already have or discover another, in either case we will always get profits. Fully applicable to any area of our life.

• We cannot innovate if we do not know who we are. Knowing who we are should be our starting point that allows us to know who we want to be, abandoning the limited idea that we have about ourselves. Why do we think that at a certain age we are no longer able to learn another language?

• During the innovation process we will have "discomfort". Whoever has made a move will know all the inconveniences generated, however it is necessary to use flexibility to understand that it is just another step that brings us closer to the goal.

• Make a plan. We can be refined and talk about a "plan to reduce body mass" or if we are simpler it will be a "simple diet". Whatever our style, let's have a flexible plan to achieve our goal.

Innovation is not a new topic but its results are always surprising! Let's take a look at history and we will find a large number of people who had the courage to carry out an idea, who were willing to pay the price of inconvenience to achieve a better position.

Let's ask ourselves what do we want to do, where do we want to go? Let's think about it for 1 minute (since in 5 there will surely be reasons for not doing it), then let's take that idea, give it shape, and step by step we will find the path that allows us to reach the goal !
