Is fear paralyzing you?

We were born in a social and cultural environment in which we get used to hearing: "Be strong, don't be afraid. " But at no time have we been told what to do in order not to be afraid as if the mere fact of receiving the indication (or the order in most cases) of: "don't be afraid" will suffice for this emotion to magically disappear..

On the contrary, far from disappearing, over the years fear increases if we do not have the optimal resources to elaborate this emotion and in any case make it our ally.

What I mean by this? That fear is not an enemy, but on the contrary, it can be an ally, if we know what to do with it and how much it is convenient for us to keep it.

And when I say ally, I mean that fear allows us to be attentive, to be cautious, to control certain impulses, to observe the situation and the context, to analyze when it is convenient to act and in what way. Of course, all this happens if the amount of fear we have does not overwhelm or blind us. So, ultimately , it is not about not being afraid, but about maintaining a quantity that is not excessive, a quantity that does not overwhelm or paralyze us and allow us to advance in our challenges. And how to achieve this, you wonder?

What can you do to face any challenge you set yourself without being paralyzed by fear?

Here are four suggestions for you to apply every time fear overwhelms you and becomes your enemy:

1. I distinguished fear and differentiated it from personal preservation:

It is necessary that you know and be able to take care of yourself, be attentive and on the alert, but as I mentioned above, do not stop. By observing what you feel as if you were a spectator of what is happening to you and not the protagonist, you can have other perspectives and relativize what you are experiencing. This will make it easier for you to decrease the intensity

2. Listen to your body:

Concentrate on what you are physically feeling. Pay attention to your breathing, focus on the rhythm of it, that is regular and calm. Mobilize your joints, stretch as if you were stretching, connect with your muscles, your limbs, take over your body. I went to walk. Do not let physical symptoms take over you (tachycardia, sweating, rapid breathing, muscle tension) and take care of your own home that is your body, with everything that happens to it. Stop at what you feel, accept it, do not deny it or run away and work on the different sensations you are having transforming them through conscious breathing and controlled movement, into energy for action.

3. Bancate the uncertainty:

Accept the unknown as well as your own limitations. And don't be mad at this. You are not perfect nor do you have to be. You are a human being to whom things happen to everyone (even if they don't tell you honestly). Venture through new challenges, unknown territories, links without guarantees and recognize that, although all this generates a certain fear, it is not impossible to advance. It's just about doing it with caution, great energy, and a strong belief in what you want to do. May nothing and no one be stronger than your own desire.

4. Seek help:

Just as you are not perfect, you do not have to do everything alone. You can ask for help, people who accompany you, motivate you, guide you and give you their energy and clarity to move forward. Remember that as I always say: you will only get faster but as a team you can go further.

And when you manage to apply these four tools, fantasize about the result, about what you want to achieve and that you are willing to reach beyond and despite fear. Always trying is better than staying with the desire and the doubts of knowing what would have happened if you had been encouraged.
