Exercise to get out of demotivation

Anonim

Days ago, María wrote to express that she had felt completely identified with a recent email that I sent in which she shared my personal story; the great frustrations, emptiness and anguish that I experienced when my personal transformation had not yet arrived. In this article I tell you about the powerful exercise that I recommended you do to quickly get out of those unproductive states.

María expressed to me that she was going through a stage of her life of feeling very bad, disoriented, trapped by fear and thoughts of scarcity, with a very limited economy.

What I did at that time was to recommend a simple, fast and practical exercise that is powerful and clarifying. Although you may already know it, you may not be applying it every time you need it. So now is the time.

Unfortunately many people who are going through difficult times, instead of focusing on what they do want, keep going round and round (whether consciously or unconsciously) on what they do not want, and that is precisely what causes suffering and suffering. discomfort is maintained by preventing them from glimpsing new possibilities.

The idea of this exercise that I will explain below is to change that feeling of not knowing what to do and how to get out of a state of fear, demotivation and inaction. Instead of focusing on what you don't want, what you need to do is redirect your attention to what you do want.

The key is where you are focusing your attention!

I recommended that Maria draw a picture of 2 wide columns.

I asked him to write in the first column everything that I do not want at this moment for his life. Some examples of something you could write in this column are:

  • "I don't want to have debts" or "I don't want to have such a limited economy."

I do not want…

I want…

«I don't want to have debts» …………………………………………………………………
«I don't want to have such a limited economy» …………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………

After writing all the "I don't want" (all the things, situations, feelings, etc. that you don't want), in the next column and for each "I don't want", I asked him to "turn" each one of them, that is to say, write that but in a positive connotation. I give you an example…

  • What would be the opposite of "I don't want to have debts"? How could we express positively "I don't want to have debts"?

We could write for example:

  • "I want abundance and feel that everything I want comes to me easily"? "I want to always have money over me" or "I want to feel comfortable with money"

You see it?

I do not want…

I want…

I don't want to have debts I want abundance and feel that everything I want comes to me easily
I don't want to have such a limited economy I want you to always give me money
I don't want scarcity in my life I want to enjoy an economy of abundance…
I don't want to be lonely I want to have many friends and enrich myself with healthy relationships
I don't want to be insecure I want to know myself, believe in myself and feel secure in my decisions
I don't want my company to fail I want my company to grow and reach more people…
I don't want to have physical pain I want to enjoy a healthy physical state
I don't want it to be difficult to have my own house I want to have my own house (in "such-place", with "such characteristics").

So you have to work with each sentence of "I don't want…"; turn it into the opposite, or as I say, "turn it" so that it is expressed in Positive.

After having the 2 columns written…

Want will not…

… what I asked him to do is cut the first column and then throw it away or burn it so that he begins to focus only on what he wants.

So let's summarize, this is the step-by-step for you to apply this exercise to the letter…

  1. On a sheet, draw a box with 2 columns: The first column will have the title "I don't want…", the second column will have the title "I want…". In the first column, write everything you don't want for your life now. For each thing you wrote in the "I don't want" column, convert that sentence to positive, "turn it" by writing it in column 2 so that it is expressed as a possibility (look at the examples above, but write yours).Cut out the first column (the "I don't want…") and throw it away or burn it. Begin to focus only on what you want. Write alternatives to create new possibilities, solutions, ideas to achieve what you want. Make decisions according to those alternatives of how you will do it. achieve them (i.e.: how will you do,What do you need to do to achieve that? Take action step-by-step by focusing on the present! And start to see how the new results appear.

You will be surprised in a few days of what this exercise will achieve in you and in your life.

Get to work now! Do not waste your time! The time to apply it is now. Grab a piece of paper and a pen or pencil and follow my instructions.
