The power of concentration

Anonim

Do you ever stop to think about one of the important parts of your thoughts, about your concentration? The ability to focus is essential, no matter what task or job you are doing... Nothing big or meaningful can be accomplished without effort and without proper concentration.

Almost all people have some kind of difficulty concentrating. They can be employees of a large company, students or a salesperson, no matter what role the person is playing, but it is a problem that does not take into account social class or intellectual capacity.

Concentration can be defined as that state of mind in which that person's energies, both physical and mental, focus on what they are doing or thinking at that moment in the event. All actions and all thoughts that are not related to what you are doing or thinking are kept out of the mind.

If we look at a child who is growing, one of the first things that can be appreciated is the ability they have to pay attention and focus on their games or learning at a young age.

When examining the ability of adults, through studies and tests to see the degree of concentration, it can be seen that there are two levels:

1- People who voluntarily focus their attention by selecting the objects that will be served by their concentration.

2- The other subjects who ignore this ability to concentrate and pay attention to all objects as a means of mental distraction.

Even though we take a caring stance, there will always be certain distractions that cannot be removed from the environment in which one lives. For example, you can't stop the noise from planes or cars passing by on the street while you're trying to work or study.

Nor can you build a wall around your thoughts and in the focus of your mind, to keep ideas that you do not want or consider irrelevant. The best we can do is accept the inevitable, which is the presence of some distractions and realize that in order to focus and have the attention you need to carry out your task, it is necessary to establish the habit of ignoring these permanent distractions.

You can simply start by making a great effort to ignore them, and that with practice, this attitude will be automatic. But you can also develop an interest in that object that matters so much to you. It's easy for anyone to say, "I'm focused," but what you need to know is how exactly you achieve that focus. Remember that to concentrate, it is an act where your whole body and mind are involved in the task or action that is being carried out.

All the efforts made by the mind either to:

- perceive something

- Collect data

- Associate information

- Imagine

-Judge certain facts or things

All the senses must be involved in that fact. As you begin to develop a firm interest in some field, be it work or study, the habit of ignoring these distractions will also increase. You will be able to focus all your energy on that effort, which will be less and less.

Another important fact is that as you develop that power to select the objects that determine your attention, you will also learn to increase other processes that are part of your mind, such as improving your memory capacity and remembering more and more data, but you will also learn to take advantage of your time.

Simply put, developing your power to focus and focus your attention through the correct use of your energy is a mental process.

The two keys to achieve higher concentration are,

1- It is a selection in what for each one of us is important, without taking into account what it is not, and also knowing that tasks and jobs need to be the priority within this capacity.

2- You must identify for yourself, what is important and essential for you. Try to filter out everything that is not relevant in your life and for your purpose.

Recognize what is essential, and put aside the non-essential, so that your concentration is a strong part of your mind to recreate in your life what you set yourself as goals.
