What complicated times we have had to live through!

People dedicate themselves to a job, a business or a profession and only manage to survive. She becomes a slave to that lifestyle to the point that she closes herself to the infinite options that we all have to enjoy the wonderful gift that life is, to realize our dreams, to see our children grow and our parents grow old.

Let's think for a moment. What powerful reason can compel us to exchange the life God gives us for the day-to-day zeal that drowns us and limits us to a small circle of co-workers and clients who are probably not interested in our history beyond of what we can share in this environment?

What is preventing us from leaving that job for a better one or stopping being an employee to start our own business? What prevents us from flying?

It is as if after years and years of trying to improve or maintain our material condition, this takes away our joy, the ability to dream and conditions us to self-slavery of routines and habits that move us further and further away from a way out, a light at the end of the tunnel. It renders us incapable of achieving our most legitimate aspirations.

So we do not believe anything or anyone who presents us with new options because we must protect what we have achieved at sword point in this world that has become a battlefield where our greatest enemy is really our train of false and limiting beliefs.

This text is not a call to naivete and to believe that all that glitters is gold and that everyone has good intentions, but what I am totally convinced of is that in the prison that you have built yourself, the bars are the size of Your fears and the exits are as many as the opportunities that you decide to know without prejudice.

After being in that jail for so long, you get used to its smell, your cellmates, abuse, its walls, the darkness, its food and for some reason, perhaps it is the so-called "Stockholm syndrome "You come to think that your fault is greater than or equal to that of others, or that they are meek little lambs, who have made the same effort as you and therefore deserve life imprisonment with them.

I was once in a neighbor's business, he markets vehicle parts and sells and buys anything that legally earns him profit margins. He is a “successful” man because he has managed to maintain this business for years and his children are already adults and he has been able to give them the best education.

This made me approach him to raise a business opportunity that could free him in a few years from his self-employment status. But I must confess, in less than an hour I saw so many things that morning that I felt compassion for him and knew that it would be difficult for him to see the opportunity that I was showing him. Even so, I kept hope and proceeded, while he divided himself between trying to listen to me and his Sunday routine in the business, I could see that:

  • After so many years, he continues at the front of the counter, working until Sundays dispatching the smallest piece of the lowest value and keeping strict control of every penny in a small notebook and I repeat “penny” because it was the only thing I saw pass by. the box: cents More than 20 people came forward to deal with to try to please all of your questions, many of which were simple curiosity and did not end in a real purchase. I must admit that my neighbor is an artist dealing with clients, because he was able to attend to all of them and, although I noticed him a little annoyed, he kept calm and continued his routine. The risk of handling cash has made him acquire a pistol, which I had the pleasure of meeting when two guys showed up to exchange a few dollars that he identified as thieves. He took the money and checked it,made some calls and told the gentlemen to wait, that the money changer would come in a moment

He explained that he had called the police because they had previously cheated on him with a fake $ 100.

Imagine the panic I was in without being able to move from there until I saw the outcome and tried to finish my presentation, which, incidentally, did not want to listen completely and flatly rejected upon learning of the type of business I was proposing. He told me categorically that he had no free time, that he knew what he was talking about. I thought to myself: how can you know what I am proposing to you if you have not heard it, you have not tried it and you have not studied it objectively, as a businessman?

To be frank, at the time, I was the one who was not interested in continuing because it seemed to me that I had really entered a prison from which it was making it difficult for me to leave. I felt very sorry for him and after the police came and took the alleged criminals, I spoke out loud: “Thank God that he frees me permanently from dealing with these kinds of situations, this is definitely not the kind of life that I want". Imagine, now he is going to have to fly because, what if the alleged criminals want to get even?

Just as my neighbor there are millions of people clinging to their years of struggle, captive of their limiting beliefs and with little chance of one day being free beyond the freedom that we all have to say: "I am not interested in being free."

I invite you not to close yourself to any proposal, listen, study, analyze, make a new judgment every time because what was yesterday may not be today, many things that yesterday were a bad idea today are the best thing that has happened. Do not refuse to meet people, much less offer a helping hand.

Prepare yourself for the new opportunities that life brings you, and when you are ready, jump into them without fear and with faith. "Don't take life so seriously, after all, you won't get out of it alive." Les Luthiers.

God bless you and good luck.
