Although we know the potential of social networks in today's world and the ability to connect an entire planet instantly, the full scope that social networks could have is not yet known for sure. With these technologies, communication is seen in a faster, more efficient way and with an impressive scope and we could define it as a free and powerful technology

Social networks impact on companies

introduction

Externalizing, showing, exposing, exhibiting or sharing knowledge is one of the main or could be said the best stimulus for the reproduction of new knowledge and for the continuous improvement of the breadth and quality of the knowledge already acquired.

In companies, this concept should not go unnoticed, and even less in the XXI century where the focus is not on the means of information production, nor on its efficiency, but on shared knowledge

I do not know, if we should see it as good and excellent news or simply as the development of society, but today we have the appropriate tools to obtain communication without barriers, to share information and for the collaboration of a construction in collective intelligence

This is precisely what the so-called social networks aim at. In the present we will define what is the impact as a tool in the functioning of organizations.

II. Background

We can define the social network as a "set of individuals that are related to each other." (Gallego, 2011) and I think that he is correct with this definition because we are relating to interact with each other and in something that we could guess is that “Social networks are one of the best paradigms of Web 2.0 and the construction of opinion in the digital environment ”(BERNAL, 2010).

Its beginnings of social networks began with the creation of the internet in the nineties, in 1994 what would be the first blogs was created, in 2000 what we know as web 2.0 was born and we can attribute the birth of different pages dedicated to communication that at that time they were called circles of friends, today known as social networks and in 2003 was where the May explosion of social networks came in 2003 with the creation of “MySpace, Friendster, Tribe and Xing, among others. " (Taipe, 2011)

III. Development

Analyzing these definitions we can ask ourselves, what exactly can social networks contribute within companies? In an analysis we were able to realize that there are different fields that the strategic and intelligent use of technologies can help and make a difference. We will detail below:

Internal communication, this for overcoming the so-called "bottlenecks". The transmission of information is one of the pending issues for many companies, especially for those organizations that have been achieving certain growth, the problem is that the information does not always have the impact that is desired and does not reach the expected people, in Sometimes it is the very organization that they have causes barriers, since they are divided into the traditional departments. Nor should we ignore those bosses who choose to withhold or hide information in order to obtain some justification in their position. The result of all this is what is known as "bottlenecks" that prevent information from traveling liberally and fairly within companies. The use of social networks as an internal communication can benefit to break down communication barriers, since these networks grant each collaborator the possibility of having the information of the first instance and the opportunity to be able to participate in the collaboration contributing their knowledge… ” The challenge is not to fight or inhibit this type of collaboration between our workers, but how to make their twists include valuable information for the company ”(Roel, 2011).include valuable information for the company ”(Roel, 2011).include valuable information for the company ”(Roel, 2011).

When these bottlenecks are eliminated, information can flow more freely and in all the required directions, not only from top to bottom but also horizontally and vertically. This strengthens interpersonal relationships and increases the level of commitment. Knowledge is exposed to the view of all this through social networks so that employees perceive that their contributions are taken into account. The use of these social networks can be part of an important factor, as it will apply the principle of transparency within the company since the people who used to retain, hide and compose the information will be evidenced and will have to adapt to new technologies.

More and more often companies have different offices and sometimes their collaborators work remotely. There are several reasons why this trend grows, since telecommuting or working remotely causes significant savings in transportation and infrastructure and sometimes makes workers feel more comfortable working at home and this increases their work capacity and this allows companies to have one of the best talent in the world of work regardless of their location.

In this context, the role played by social networks is essential, this because it allows to keep open in a constant and permanent way, the communication channels between the two companies and the different work teams, this helps that distance is not a problem if do not become a solution.

"The Internet Job Boards themselves have quickly become popular by exposing a Huge Variety of Talent or Candidate Profiles on the Web, conditioning Multiple Advantages for both Job Seekers and Those Seeking Suitable Profiles to Fill Company Vacancies" (Diaz). As the following paragraph emphasizes, social networks are a very good tool to make the recruitment and selection of personnel that the company requires faster and more efficient. Currently if we are recruiters we can consult the most talented professionals, regardless of their location. In addition, we will be able to verify at first instance, what are their qualities, their aptitudes, their values and their trajectory.

The birth of social networks in a professional matter with its different levels of specialization has made it easier to find the ideal profile. If we look at it from the candidate's point of view, at no time as at present there have been various opportunities to find employment, but above all to find a job that suits our wishes and needs.

“The way in which users influence the purchase decisions of others, based on their comments, is the most important reason for marketing the company through social networks, explains Moisés Cielak” (Hernández, 2013). The influence that contacts have on social networks allow the relationship with customers, and these relationships in many cases turn into sales. This is the importance of social networks as a tool for approaching direct potential customers or opening a new market. Facebook and twitter are the great powers in social networks.

“70% of Mexican Internet users are registered in at least one social network. Mexico is one of the 5 countries in which participation in Facebook is growing faster ”(Roel, 2011). In the case of Facebook, the approach with customers is not very direct and is carried out through groups of passionate users or fans of a certain service or product. In the case of Twitter, it allows organizations to start a dialogue directly with customers. We know that both social networks currently have millions of users, if we put a message or the quality of the service or product and it sympathizes with the users, the dissemination is fast and at that moment the social networks will have become our most powerful marketing tool.

The conditions imposed by social networks is always to respect the freedom of the user and that they are exclusively provided services or products that they are willing to receive, if not, our powerful tool will become a lethal weapon that can turn against us.

IV. Conclusions

The intelligent and strategic use of social networks, contributes to the integration with internal processes and in the development of tools that can significantly help the transformation of companies. The main effects that social networks could achieve are the following: a joint development with a knowledge of strategy technology that would contribute to modifying our business models, improving our internal communication methods to make it more fluid and reaches all directions,As well as an effective transparency in the company, in the same way, it would benefit us to grant job opportunities to people from other countries who meet an ideal profile for the company or for the recruitment of new talents that the organization needs and above all, being closer to our clients and you know their main wishes and needs as well as being able to expand our market.

In short, they are a tool that is in our present and their need is increasingly useful and could make the company transcend and mark competitiveness before others.
