Currently with the rapid growth of companies and the need to have better management of resources and processes, it is of great importance to have a tool that helps companies better coordinate their assets, processes and resources; in other words, an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.

The advantages of having an ERP system are many. First, it allows integrating all business processes, optimizing resources in various areas such as: human resources, finance, operations, among others. Other advantages are that it allows you to increase business productivity, have better control of costs and in general, better control of the entire company.

A very important aspect is that ERP systems increase the availability of information, allowing the company to have information in real time both for decision-making and to make more accurate forecasts about the company's performance.

Several success stories of companies that have implemented an ERP system can be mentioned. One of them is Burger King, which had a lot of information from different areas of the business and wanted to achieve a better administration and relationship of functions. By implementing an ERP system that handles various modules (administration, finance, treasury, human resources, among others), Burger King achieved operational excellence and boosted the growth of the company; since it allowed him to relate the critical operations of the business to be able to manage it better.

Another case of success that we can mention is that of the Jaguar company in Spain, which adopted an ERP system to provide a better solution to the rapid growth it was experiencing.

It is important to note that the ERP system is a powerful tool to process and interpret financial information more effectively, improving business performance both in the short and long term.

In one of the modules of the system, that of the company's administration, it is possible to carry out comprehensive strategic planning, monitor daily performance, consolidate the business and maintain effective communication with shareholders.

Another module, that of treasury, allows them to measure liquidity, manage current assets and interest rates, as well as manage investment portfolios and financial transactions.

Lastly, the human resources module allows making decisions, optimizing the company's investment in employees; In addition, they can use empowerment to get employees involved with the company.

With all of the above, we can see that an ERP system brings many advantages. The main disadvantage that we can mention is that currently implementing an ERP system is very expensive for the company, so it can only be used by large companies that have enough resources to implement it.

Another important point to note is that any type of business system, such as ERP, requires fundamental changes in the way the business operates. From my point of view, I think it is difficult to implement an ERP system in many Mexican businesses, since most belong to small and medium-sized companies that have a very particular way of operating the business and it can be very difficult to try to change that. shape.

But the important thing is that everyone who has a company or a business realizes the usefulness of an ERP system; that although at some point it may mean a great investment, the benefits it brings are greater and it is worth investing in a business system.

As you can see, ERP systems are very useful for companies, mainly for large companies, since it allows them to handle large amounts of continuously updated information in order to make timely decisions about business performance.
