Considered as one of the most terrible causes of family and social disintegration, ignorance and lack of interest in reading and knowledge has resulted in entire families having to separate due to what is considered until today as machismo.
The belief in this taboo is no longer typical of the time. We are living the beginning of a new century and yet ignorance has not yet touched the surface of what is credible.
Even today there are women who "shouldn't study because they weren't born for that," who shouldn't be more than mothers of families and servants. As the grandparents said, "only for the metate and the mat", incredible truth, but it is true.
Of course, the woman, because she does not aggravate the problems with her husband, because she cannot live without him, because she does not know how to do or work in something, prefers to be left without the necessary knowledge, enough to support her children and supports everything.
Sounds paradoxical, right?
However, it has been proven that nowadays only a small percentage of rural women want to improve themselves, it is also true that as time passes many of them like to start opening their eyes and at least say, «yes, I would like to learn how to do something, I don't want to stay in ignorance ”and some of them dare to attend cooking recipes courses, talks on personal improvement that have been given very resoundingly in the last five years in different cities and in many other activities such as the study of computers.
Slow but safe.
It is also true that in recent years many women have already left their homes to dedicate themselves to political, cultural, sports and work activities.
Everywhere we see policewomen, deputies, doctors, lawyers, etc. It shows that at least 40% of well-prepared women have already emerged from total ignorance to dedicate themselves to social and labor productivity and not only to family productivity.
Living indiscriminately, poor and forgotten should no longer be a cause of ignorance. In the 21st century there are many ways to get to the truth, using the information adopted from books, talks, conferences, school for parents, the use of the Internet, as one of the most sophisticated ideas of science and technology.
That disinterest, laziness, lack of motivation and shame are overwhelmed by our prejudices is another thing, but it is true, from that we will not get more than ignorance, because mental laziness does not forgive.
Alex Dey, one of the greatest motivators in Latin America and the United States tells us "Feed your mind, so your mind will fill your pockets." Unfortunately, 60% of women of preparing age do not do so because they live attached to the household economy, that is, if there is no for tortillas, if there is no for beans, if there is no food, I simply cannot have a space to learn or get ahead.
