Find out in this article the basic questions that will lead you to your goals. In the coaching process, the coach uses the questioning technique to lead the coach or client to their success. Of course in a private and interactive coaching process, there would be all kinds of questions. These would go in one direction or another depending on how the session progresses, but there are some basic questions that I present here and if you ask them they will lead you hopelessly towards your goal.

1.- What do you want to achieve?

This is where the coaching process begins. This is the moment when you ask yourself what it is you want. Make sure it really is what you want and not something imposed. Your willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve your goal is important so that you can establish it more clearly.

Of course, the goals can be remodeled over time and experience. Define them as clearly as possible, with great detail and the time you want to get them.

State them in positive. Your goals should not be aimed at avoiding things you do not want, but to achieve what you want. It is proven that we go towards what we pay attention to, and if you think about something you do not want, you will tend to head towards it.

2.- What is the real current situation with respect to your objective?

This is the part where you define how the current situation is with respect to your goal. It is essential to know the starting point of our journey in order to establish the path we want to achieve.

Be honest with yourself, and commit to the truth. Committing to the truth does not mean seeking the absolute truth, simply that sometimes we take for real some things that come from our beliefs. Try to be as objective as possible here, in order to avoid closing doors to yourself.

Also in this phase, establish the resources that you have and those that you would need that you can generate.

3.- What is the way forward?

Once you have established your goals and have reached the real starting point (commitment to the truth), it is time to design an action plan.

This action plan should feel like yours. It should please you as much as possible, because if it is a plan that you dislike, it will be very difficult for you to have the perseverance to carry it out.

Carrying out your action plan is what will take you towards your goal and will make it real. The true power is in the action, so you must design a plan that is as easy as possible to execute.

Keep in mind that there is no failure, only results. Some of the results you will like and some you will not. When you don't like a result, you just have to change the way you act. The only true failure is abandonment.

These are the 3 basic steps of a coaching process. I am also going to give you one last recommendation that may seem very simple, but believe me if I tell you that it will be very useful to help you achieve your goals. Every time you achieve an achievement no matter how small, such as carrying out a step in the action plan, "CELEBRATE IT." The how is up to you, but don't let it. Moreover, I would tell you to define the way in which you are going to celebrate it before getting it.
