Example 1 Analyze Sales Revenues

You have been asked to analyze your company's revenues from the three largest US regions.
You have obtained 4-month revenues from each region.

A project is an environment where you can manipulate data, perform analysis, and generate graphs.
Project files (.MPJ) can be stored:

Worksheet files (.MTW) can be stored:

Save your work as a project file to have all your data, graphs, dialog box settings and preferences together. Save as a Worksheet to save the data only. A Worksheet can be used in several projects and sent by e-mail without sending the entire project. NOTE: Project versions 13 cannot be opened by versions prior to MINITAB.
Project Windows
Closing a data or Graph window removes the associated worksheet or graph from your project. You cannot close a "Project Manager" or window session although they can be minimized.
NOTE: Automatically, the "Project Manager" is minimized in the lower left corner of your screen.
Opening a Project
Begin by analyzing the revenue data, opening the Open Project Project file, SALESREV.MPJ, and activate the data window, you:
- Open MINITAB you can view and edit the data. Select File.S Open Project. Click the desired file SALESREV.MPJ TIP: You can use the button to open a project.
