Summary

The success of large companies almost always falls on their leaders who in one way or another have on their shoulders the responsibility not only to achieve the objectives, but also to give sustained growth to the organization and to all those who work in it. Definitely for these individuals their central motor was, is and continues to be motivation, without it we would never have the important results of companies such as Ford Motor Company, Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart, etc…, whose effectiveness has been cemented by great personalities that, however, without a motivated work team, with objectives, discipline and an adequate work environment would never have achieved their achievements.

introduction

In the following essay, the reader will be able to discern from different points of view what motivation is, how it occurs within organizations as well as the impact it has within them, as well as take into account how it is that the administrators have to make this an important part of an organization.

II. Background

Frankl was born in Vienna on March 26, 1905 and from a very young age he became interested in psychology, in 1930 he already had a doctorate in medicine in which he was already in charge of women who had had suicide attempts, in 1942 his parents were deported to a concentration camp in Prague the Theresienstadt.

As well as his parents, he was also in 4 different concentration camps in which both his father and his relatives were killed, observing how they were taken to other concentration camps where they died as well as Frankl's acquaintances and friends.

From the beginning of this stage of difficult situations, Frankl began to look for a way to behave from the people who were around him despite the fact that since he was a child he begins to be interested in psychology, these events make his interest grow every time.

"Prisoner, for a long time, in the beastly concentration camps, he himself felt in his own being what a naked existence meant." (Frankl, 1991, p. 3) All these events were forging the way by which he achieved the advance of what is called logotherapy or what is known as existential analysis, in which he tried to help explain or help in the treatment of neurosis, depressions and different disorders in the human being.

Shortly after managing to get out of the concentration camps alive, he wrote the work Man's Search for Meaning in the “He exposes that, even in the most extreme conditions of dehumanization and suffering, man can find a reason to live, based on its spiritual dimension. This reflection served to confirm and finish developing Logotherapy ”(Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 2014).

Finding himself in such adverse situations and being able to get out of them safely, he managed to reflect and say that “Friederich Nietszche was right: Those who have a reason to live, despite adversity, will resist” (Boeree, 1998).

This is how he begins to develop theories and statements regarding the way people live, he says that most people with a certain degree of neurosis find it difficult to live in a quiet environment or in a different way than usual, a A clear example is the fact that the moment after a busy work day or week of work the person does not find where to entertain or have fun by forming his daily life in his only way of life if not boredom begins in person.

This, among other things, are what Frankl comments and those that we will analyze in this essay.

III. Development

The motivation from Víctor Frankl's point of view tells us that being in an environment as hostile as a concentration camp, he finds that his greatest motivation is “… to stay alive to return to the family that was waiting for them at home… ”(Frankl, 1991, p. 7) so in this way you can also have an overview of how motivation plays an important role in the lives of beings, both in personal life and in the workplace.

In the same way, Frankl mentions that for the human being motivation goes beyond a single word, he also mentions that by nature we look for a motive or a reason to continue, he expresses that "Whoever has a reason to live will almost always find how". (Frankl, 1991, p. 4).

Having mentioned this, Maslow in which “the basic needs are below, and the superior or rational ones above. (Physiological, security, social, esteem, self-realization) ”(8 theories of motivation, 2014) looking at it from this point, in my opinion it is not always necessary to meet some of these needs to feel motivated or with some sense to do things since with the passage of time or with the experiences lived it is known that people find their motivation or personal fulfillment when they achieve a set goal and in all people these goals are not always the same or at the same times they are achieved.

What is evident is the fact that within an organization there must always be achievements or goals to achieve to make the organization grow.

Thus, "a motivator is something that influences the behavior of an individual", for this reason it is obvious that managers of any organized company must be interested in motivators, as well as apply their inventiveness in the way they are used.

A motivated workforce is vital for any organization that wants to do well. Hence, motivating others has become an essential skill for any manager.

To unleash an employee's potential, organizations have found that they must move away from "command and control" methods, and move closer to "advise and agree." That is, they recognize that "rewarding" good work is more effective than threatening to punish for a job poorly done.

That is why for the success of any company it is important to take these points into account but with clear and well-defined goals, in this way to achieve short and long-term objectives, achieving a mutual benefit of both individual and organizational growth.

IV. Conclusions

In conclusion, motivation seen from all possible perspectives plays a very important role for any company whatever the line of business, since without it the worker would only fulfill their tasks as an obligation and not as a reason to be within it.

In my opinion, there should be one in all organizations since, no matter how minimum the number of people who work in it, they are still human beings who try to do their best to grow as people and if as employees or employers we take this into account and we are going in a single direction it is much easier to achieve everything that as a company is intended to become.
