Origin of Optimism

The word optimism originates from the Latin optimum and means "the best." We should think and feel our best every day. Generally, we are the ones who make every day, every circumstance negative. At least that's how we see it or that's how we pose it Jamaican musician Dennis Brown used to say that " the only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude." Optimistic people have the ability to see opportunities where others only see problems. They live each day as if it were special.

Carlos Fraga dedicated a space in a television program in which he addresses topics to motivate and the following question was raised : Can you be optimistic in the face of such a disaster? And as so many motivators write, Carlos said that it will depend on how you see it. It is a question of attitude.

Optimists show their enthusiasm to move forward regardless of situations, in the face of upheaval and chaos they remain calm. The adverse situations also come, pessimists will come, we must defeat all that seeks to stop our efforts, we must not give up our dreams.

Live with Optimism

Living optimistically does not imply ignoring the dramatic reality that surrounds us, or being indifferent to problems, or worse, denying that they exist. It is about facing them with an attitude of overcoming them. To feel that in the face of adversity we can always find a way out of crises and a solution to the difficulty.

Getting used to it is not an alternative, getting discouraged should never be one of the options. It's about resisting and getting up. Let's think that everything that happens in this life, by other dynamics, happens at the same time, one day things go well for you, for others maybe not. Today you laugh and tomorrow you cry, today you are healthy and tomorrow you can get sick, life is not static, not everything is beautiful, not everything is happiness and pleasure.

Naturally there are situations that you have to accept as long as you live, for example, I do not tell you to be optimistic about the loss of a loved one, that pain has to be felt and it is fair to accept that loss. What he cannot is ten years later to remain a prisoner of that suffering.

Optimism shapes our attitude to accept, that you ended a relationship, that you lost a job, that you failed a course at the university, that you missed a flight to arrive on time, why in the end you must understand that your life does not end there. The optimist avoids the tragic side of his passages. He always behaves like a winner even when the result is adverse.

The famous businessman and writer Harvey Mackay says: “The optimists are right. Also the pessimists. It is up to you to decide what you are going to be ”.

It is absolutely your decision. It is an attitude towards the bad to finally find the good. Optimism is the basis of your achievements, the foundation of success, the ability to overcome and the will to continue fighting.

Optimism in difficult situations

Difficult, painful, sad situations will not go away. They are also part of this life. Tennessee Williams wrote for the Observer "Do not look forward to the day when you will stop suffering, because when it comes you will know that you are dead." We cannot avoid bad times but we can outline a courageous and positive attitude to face them.

In this increasingly insensitive world, in such an uncertain social situation and lacking good things, optimistic people must emerge to spread their positive spirit. With that alternative proposal that you rediscover the desire to live in tranquility.

Good things exist and a better world is possible. Let us think and act optimistically.

"The pessimist is useless." Carlos Fraga.
