Knowledge perception and business learning

Anonim

Historical evolution comes from the knowledge that was inherited from past generations, that is, it had to go through the alphabet, then the numbers, later the computer, to reach the Internet. The explanation for this is not given by the final result (Internet), but by the knowledge of past actions.

In the industrial era, the value of a company was given by the material goods that the company had (land, machine, materials, labor), the value of that company was given by the harmonious conjunction of sweat and capital that were directly perceptible to the eyes of any observer.

In the markets we live in today, a radical change in the perception of a company is evident. A company is perceived as good based on what it gives, rather than based on what it has.

You can perceive the degree of knowledge that a company has, wondering who is worth more in terms of knowledge: an employee of Burger King or an employee of Arthur Andersen? Surely the question will be answered in an intangible way, but we are in that era where "soft" is worth more than "hard".

A chemical engineer who graduated two years ago is likely to be marginalized from the world of work with the knowledge acquired at the university because of how obsolete the knowledge required today is becoming.

With this I am not saying that I do not consider university work important, but I do believe that universities should rethink their educational system as well as their basic structure of knowledge providers.

For people to incorporate knowledge on a daily basis, almost as usual, perhaps a deeper level of understanding is needed and here we come to the concept of teaching how to learn to learn. This task no longer passes through the university alone, the state, companies, organizations of all kinds and institutions must also be involved.

Learning to learn is what guarantees that people obtain the ability to continue acquiring new knowledge in an unlimited way and according to the characteristics of the world, the company, the position and himself.

If we feed a person fish they will eat for a day, if we teach them to fish they will eat for their whole life, this is a parallel that synthesizes the concept of learning to learn that trainers and trained have, the work of the former He will focus on toasting and seconds on searching.

In today's world training never ends. A professional who wants to progress should not only have knowledge, because if he stays with them and nothing else, in a couple of years (or months) they would be obsolete, therefore in this age of knowledge it is essential to learn to learn. No organization can guarantee the future of human resources if it does not give them the possibilities to obtain knowledge for themselves.

The value of a company is assigned by the amount of accumulated knowledge it has as a whole. A transfer from the tangible to the intangible!
