Questions to know if you are living or surviving

Anonim

Most of us try harder to stick to the routine that we carry in the present and not for what we want to achieve in the future. The only reason for this is called survival. (Which generally has an economic basis).

This routine does not allow us to evaluate the route we are following in our life, and to make this evaluation we only need a few minutes and ask ourselves very simple questions, which we can ask in two ways:

1) If we do it as a projection into the future, we could ask ourselves:

  • Where am I going? How do I see myself in 5 years? What do I hope to achieve in those 5 years?

2) If we do it as a flashback to the past, we might ask ourselves:

  • What have been my greatest achievements in the last year of my life? What has been the greatest goal I have set for myself in life? and, if I have succeeded? Or if I am achieving it? How am I today, in relation to five years ago on the same date?

We could answer these questions from various scenarios.

  • IndividuallyIn the familyLaborallyProfessionally

After answering these questions, we would reach one of these conclusions:

a) I am on the right track.

b) I'm not going anywhere. (Popular saying - "When you don't know where you're going, any truck takes you")

c) I am not going where I want or wanted to go. (Unknown author - "There is nothing more inefficient than doing efficiently what should not be done")

Without a doubt, most of us after doing the exercise would come to the sad conclusion that we are more concerned with survival and not with personal, family, work or professional fulfillment, and that is the main cause of dissatisfaction that sooner or later we all suffer and that makes us unproductive.

That is why changing the course of our life will not be so difficult, if our philosophy of life is based on a single rule, which we must keep in mind in everything we undertake:

Survival is not an objective; it is a consequence. "

It is a consequence of personal fulfillment, because the simple concept of fulfillment is: achieving everything that gives us satisfaction, and; As a consequence, we will achieve everything we set out to do in life.
