We are all surrounded by problems, some small, others larger, these problems push us to analyze and understand situations in order to solve them. Therefore, we must make beneficial decisions.

Neuro-linguistic programming is what makes the difference between excellent and normal. It is a way of discovering and unveiling personal ingenuity, a way of bringing out the best in yourself and others.

Making a decision lies in finding options that bring us closer to the desired goal. Neurolinguistic programming offers a set of conceptual frameworks and specific techniques that favor the emotional states of people, personal resources, as well as communication strategies that enrich interpersonal relationships, since neurolinguistic programming is interested in concrete results.

HISTORY OF NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING:

The concept of neurolinguistic programming began in the early 1970s through John Grinder, an assistant professor of linguistics at the University of California at Santa Cruz, and Richard Bandler, a psychology student at the same university. Bandler and Grinder who analyzed characters like Fritz Perls, Virgina Satir and Milton Erickson, took patterns, refined them and built a model that can be used for effective communication, personal change, accelerated learning, and greater enjoyment of life. They published 4 books between 1975 and 1977: "The structure of magic, 1 and 2" and "Patterns, 1 and 2". From these initial models, Neurolinguistic programming developed two directions:the former as a process for discovering patterns to excel in a field and the latter as effective ways of thinking and communicating employed by outstanding people. In 1976 Grinder and Richard gave it the name of neurolinguistic programming.

DEFINITION OF NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING:

  • Neuro-linguistic programming is the study of subjective human experience, how we organize what we perceive, and how we review and filter the outside world through our senses. “Neuro-linguistic programming is the art and science of personal excellence. It is an art, because everyone gives their unique and personal touch and style to what they are doing, and this can never be expressed in technical words. It is a science, because there is a method, a process to discover the models used by outstanding individuals in a field to obtain outstanding results. " (O`CONNOR & SEYMOUR). "Neuro-linguistic programming is the study of subjective experience, that is," As each person is a different world, since they have conscious, unconscious and other even more unconscious reasons that make them be,act and communicate in a certain way "(OSORIO, nd)." Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is the discipline whose field of action is the structure of man's subjective experience. It presents and works with specific tools that can be applied effectively in any human interaction. " (Pascual, 2014) "NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING, is a valuable resource to create states of excellence in executives, managers and companies, facilitating the enhancement, improvement and development of our mental, physical and emotional capacities." WHY IS IT CALLED NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING?

"Programming" refers to the process that our sensory system follows to organize its representations thus creating its operational strategies.

"Neuro" refers to the fact that all behavior comes from our neurological processes of vision, hearing, smell, touch and feeling; In other words, we make sense of the information and act accordingly.

"Linguistics" refers to the fact that we use language to order our thoughts and behavior to communicate with others.

WHAT IS NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING USED FOR?

  • Motivation and persuasion in managers and colleagues Increase personal confidence To identify the internal thought process of other people To resolve conflicts Improve communication To quickly learn what others are doing through modeling techniques To prepare interviews Increase creativity To train other people for new changes Perform better management of resources.

FRAMEWORKS OF CONDUCT OF NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING:

  1. Orientation towards goals rather than problems; it refers to discovering what we want, what resources we have, and how to use them to achieve our goal. The orientation towards the problems is usually called a “Fault Frame”, that is to say to carry out a detailed analysis about what is wrong. Asking oneself in order to understand the structure of the problem and wondering why to find justifications and reasons without producing any change. Interaction or Feedback facing failure. They are subtle corrections, use the results obtained to correct the direction of efforts. Interaction keeps us focused on the goal or objective. Consider possibilities rather than needs; that is, stick more to what can be done than the limitations of the situation. Adopt an attitude of Curiosity and Fascination rather than making Assumptions.

SENSORY REPRESENTATION SYSTEMS OR SUBMODALITIES:

  1. Visual
  • ColorDistanceDepthClarityContrastLuminance
  1. Auditory
  • Volume Tone Rhythm Pause
  1. Kinesthetic
  • Temperature Vibration Texture Pressure Movement Weight

CHARACTERISTICS OF NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING:

  1. Neuro-linguistic programming helps human beings grow to have a better quality of life. It uses a series of techniques associated with each other to achieve the desired behavior through a practical approach. It is a powerful tool for communication, influence and persuasion.. Through communication it targets the brain to achieve the best results. Basically it is a modeling. Neuro-linguistic programming is an attitude.

NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING METHODS AND TECHNIQUES:

  • ANCHORING: It means connecting lived experiences with their respective situational frames, observations, senses, moments, etc. For decision making, this technique is used evaluating all the existing aspects in a past situation, at that time how everything worked in order to compare it with the current situation and see what is missing or what is left over; and thus, be able to make the necessary adjustments. CROP: This technique is also known as "reinterpretation". This technique basically seeks to reframe the content of a certain behavior, circumstance, etc., reframe the meaning and reframe the context in order to look at the problem from totally different points of view to find solutions that we did not observe at first. PERCEPTION:Perception must be sharpened to avoid erroneous interpretations and establish incorrect premises. By sharpening the perception we can intuit the attitude of conflict or rejection of the collaborators towards us and thus react appropriately before our efforts fail.CALIBRATE: It is to observe and meticulously interpret the external aspect, the physiology of the receiver when we try to discover what their sensations and beliefs.

NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING IN THREE MINUTES:

  1. You must know what you want; In other words, having a clear goal to achieve in each situation. Keep the senses alert to be able to notice what is obtained. Be flexible to modify the way we act until we achieve what we seek.

NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING IN THE COMPANY:

Nowadays companies know that personal conflicts influence working life and vice versa, that is why they are interested in neurolinguistic programming. Because they know that people at the integration level with decision-making power are needed to work within them.

Neuro-linguistic programming helps to work interpersonal relationships with clients and coworkers, to negotiate efficiently with clients and suppliers through simple tools and techniques.

ADVANTAGES OF NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING IN THE COMPANY:

  • Helps to change behaviors that annoy or block us Facilitates the achievement of "commercial and service" objectives Improves the organizational climate Teaches people to identify the communication channel used by their interlocutor Teaches people to be flexible to change their own preferences based on of a task Improves learning ability  Improves ability to choose

NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING FOR DECISION MAKING:

According to neurolinguistic programming, we all have a “base activity” that is related to decision-making. In this activity processes are located that the more we know about ourselves the faster they are. Therefore, we can infer that the more a person knows herself, the better she will make her decisions.

Anthony Robbins, a renowned NLP expert, tells us that making a decision is like "training and developing a muscle in the body"… the more decisions we make, the more training we will have and the time will come when making a decision will be something totally natural and much more effective..

It can be said that when a person knows what he wants, where he is going, he has an excellent knowledge of himself; You will be able to make decisions quickly and change your mind on a few occasions and when the situation really warrants it, when very important events occur.

Decision-making in an organization is limited to a series of people who are supporting the same project. We must start by making a selection of decisions.

DECISION PROCESS

  • Error detection: something tells us that things are not going well, the problem is recognized, identified, recognized and accepted. We must have a complete description of the problem and everything that surrounds it. Analysis of deficiencies: in this step the complex problematic situation is divided into elements to proceed to investigate, determine and rank the causes that determined it. Once the causes are hierarchized, we can decide where to start. Creative problem solving: actions that help attack the causes and solve the problem must be identified. In order to define a solution, attention must be paid to: design, implementation, responsible parties, dates, conditions and acceptance. Planning: that is, establishing a series of steps from the real situation to the desired one and determining the specific and general objectives. Organization:We must have all the resources that are necessary to execute the planning. Execution: that is, to put it into operation involving will, tenacity, patience, optimism, flexibility, serenity, energy and courage. The rules for a good execution are:
  • Define the results to be obtained Establish deadlines Good transmission of information between subordinates and boss Establish high performance Do not fall into frustration if something goes wrong Apply positive pressure Monitor performance continuously
  • Control: by means of the controls it is sought to set indicator values, to prevent them from exceeding a limit. Some rules to exercise fair control are:
  • Putting yourself in the other person's shoes Trying to get a reaction from the other person A wrong impression can be produced only with oral or written communication Organize thoughts in logical progression  Use simple language Look the other person in the eye.
  • Follow-up: adapt controls over time so that the situation is maintained with its own resources. That is, to combine the new situation with time in the most harmonious way.
  • Evaluation: the evaluation will take as its object the new situation achieved after applying the previous steps. All indicators will have to be scored.

CONCLUSIONS:

Neuro-linguistic programming is a great tool to improve communication between people and to improve ourselves. It has multiple applications such as personal improvement and application in management and decision making.

It is a modern tool, easy to implement that brings multiple benefits. The better people are as individuals, the better their job performance; bringing with it benefits for the company.
