Background

Obviously the issue of environmental pollution derived from garbage is complex and even more so considering the development and growth of the cities of our country.

As a result of recent dates and derived from excessive consumerism, there has been a significant increase in the amount of waste generated in cities, which according to the Ministry of the Environment in the State of Mexico in 2014 generated 12,740 tons of garbage, which means that each inhabitant produced about 1.43 kilos of garbage daily, causing serious environmental imbalances that for the majority of the inhabitants are unknown or ignored.

It is important to note that the waste generated in the urban community, originating from the processes of consumption and development of human activities, and which is normally solid at room temperature, shows a lack of civic awareness and respect for our environment, creating an urban image. dirty and smelly, which invites harmful fauna to proliferate indiscriminately, contributes to the obstruction of drains and drains that lead to waterlogging in rainy seasons, to mention some of the most tangible causes for citizens.

Now, considering that the issue should be taken seriously without ignoring the magnitude of a management plan that integrates both the different levels of Government and the citizens themselves, this essay refers to the first-level garbage that adorns the streets of the city. City.

Due to the above and considering that the issue should involve all citizens, I propose the implementation of the permanent program “….. FROM BOAT TO BOAT…..” which will consist of supplying and installing containers every 50 meters identified with the basic colors of recycling that will allow the classification of waste generated on public roads, which would gradually resolve to throw garbage on the streets and promote the awareness of passersby to keep our public roads clean.

To achieve the above, we must take into account the following considerations, which will be an agile guide for the identification of urban waste.

Organic waste: any waste of biological origin, which was once alive or was part of a living being, for example: leaves, branches, peels and residues from the manufacture of food at home, etc.

Inorganic waste: any waste of non-biological origin, of industrial origin or of some other non-natural process, for example: plastic, synthetic fabrics, etc.

Hazardous waste: any waste, whether of biological origin or not, that constitutes a potential danger and for which it must be treated in a special way, for example: infectious medical material, radioactive waste, acids and corrosive chemicals, etc.

Basic recycling colors in containers:

Recycling blue color (paper and cardboard): for all types of paper and cardboard, which we can find in cardboard containers such as boxes or food containers, newspapers, magazines, wrapping papers or advertising brochures, among others.

Yellow recycling color (plastics and cans): to deposit all kinds of containers and products made with plastics such as bottles, food containers or bags. Canned food and soft drink cans also have to be deposited in these containers.

Green recycling color (glass): where glass containers will be deposited, such as alcoholic beverage bottles. It is important not to use these green containers for ceramic or glass, as they make recycling of this type of material significantly more expensive.

Red recycling color (hazardous waste): although unusual, they are very useful and one of those that prevent further environmental pollution. We can consider them to store hazardous waste such as batteries, batteries, insecticides, oils, aerosols, or technological products.

Recycling gray color (rest of waste): where biodegradable matter will be deposited.

Orange recycling (organic): Although it is difficult to find an orange container, these are used exclusively for organic material. In case of not having this type of container, as we have commented, we would use gray.

What is this program about

Supply and install Ecological Islands on public roads to separate garbage every 50 meters based on plastic, metal or wooden containers identified by basic recycling colors, with an approximate capacity of 53 liters.

How to achieve the implementation of the program

Through permanent advertising campaigns on both radio and television, in order to raise awareness among citizens and promote a culture of zero garbage in the streets, as well as the classification of waste.

Integrate waste classification as well as basic recycling colors into the basic level curricula.

Request in the contracts for maintenance or construction of public works, the qualification of containers considering the reuse of the resources available and that does not cause an investment that gives rise to corruption due to an ecological added value of the works.

What benefits will be obtained through the program "… From boat to boat…" For a clear conscience.
