Chira piura and jequetepeque hydraulic infrastructure projects

Anonim

The Chira Piura Special Project is currently a decentralized execution body of the Piura Regional Government, but its creation in the seventies had as its main objective, to solve the problem of scarcity of water resources for the sustained agricultural development of the Piura river valley, as well as the optimal development of the Chira Valley and San Lorenzo Irrigation.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

  • Develop hydraulic infrastructure to guarantee the supply of water resources demanded by the population use and productive use of the type: Agrarian, aquaculture, energy, industrial, mining, recreational and tourism. Promote the administration and efficient use of the water resource. Promote the participation of the private investment in financing the construction, operation and maintenance of the new hydraulic infrastructure.

POUCH RESERVE

  • The main objective of the reservoir is to store the excess water of the Chira River during the rainy season and regulate them to satisfy the demand of the Chira, Medio and Bajo Piura valleys, with a high probability of safe and reliable operation to attend the irrigation of a total projected area totaling almost 108,874 Ha. • It is the largest hydraulic work carried out in Peru for irrigation purposes, built in the Chira riverbed, approximately 30 km from the city of Sullana.

BYPASS CHANNEL

The Daniel Escobar Canal is a hydraulic structure for the derivation of the Chira River towards the Piura River; Its catchment is on the left dam of the Poechos Dam and ends at the Curumuy Fall, 54 km from its beginning.

The channel has a trapezoidal section, it is lined with simple concrete, its maximum conduction capacity is 70 m3 / s.

EJIDOS DAM

Derivadora Los Ejidos Dam, located in the Piura river bed 7 km upstream from the city of Piura, its function is to capture the regulated waters coming from the Poechos Dam, as well as those of the Piura river itself for the supply of water to the valley from Bajo Piura.

MAIN CHANNEL UNDER PIURA

Channel of trapezoidal, telescopic, conduction and distribution section, 57.39 km long, of which 42 km correspond to the Main Canal

SULLANA DAM

Bypass structure located in the channel of the Chira River, 0.5 km downstream from the city of Sullana, built entirely of reinforced concrete, has a crest length of 362 m.

NORTH AND SOUTH CHANNEL

Hydraulic structure, which conducts the regulated waters of the Chira River in the Sullana Dam, to lead them to the lower part of the valley.

CONCLUSIONS

  • Drainage works were carried out to rehabilitate farmland It is a comprehensive system to efficiently use the water resources of the 2 basins Improvement of agricultural production and water distribution in the Chira river valley
