Trends in information systems and databases

Anonim

This article is based on the current trends in databases, as well as future projections according to certain scientists and experts in the field, being a vital element for current information systems, the future projection is impressive, especially since technology advances day by day and databases are not far behind.

Introduction

Information is the most important thing for a company and those in charge of managing databases know that very well, but currently companies or database providers are also taking into consideration other branches, not only companies, but also the government, hospitals, educational institutions, and even the user in general, in this article I will mention the advances that databases have had, as well as what they project and are displayed in a few more years.

Development

Databases have their origin since the 70s, it was thanks to Dr. Codd, with the relational model that gave rise to the great advance of databases, from which they had to go file by file to the current generations of databases (which is the third generation), where more than data are stored multimedia applications, files, among other applications, the queries that are made are specialized for decision-making, currently they are characterized by providing management capabilities of data, allowing stored data to be shared and manipulated by multiple users.

Due to the advancement of computer generations, databases are not left behind, they had to advance along with programming languages and the needs of programmers for data storage and today databases have become a multi-user language type.

Data or information is the most important thing for companies, because its greatest use is for decision-making, currently in databases you can make real-time queries, and view it in reports that is actually what the managers of a company need to see, in itself the simple data does not say anything, but the information already structured and in form is what the information shows for the decision making itself.

The evolution of databases is increasing, we are currently in the third generation, many experts in the field agree that the increase in databases is increasing day by day, in all professional areas since everything is information, in areas such as research, technology, art, education, medical systems, software engineering programs, development programs, design programs, geographic information systems, among others.

The expectation of the future of databases is projected to the manipulation of databases through all mobile devices, with mobile access to the network, this begins today as well as the security of the databases for military and medical aspects, among others, in addition to the parallel databases in which the same database is managed at the same time, databases in main memory which is located in main memory which eliminates or at least reduces the need for input / output operations, active databases which occur when certain conditions are executed automatically, without user intervention, deductive databases, object-oriented databases, multimedia databases, temporary databases and fuzzy databases, among others, are currently what we are experiencing in technology data storage,so let's wait and see if all this has its fruits in the next 10 years when the only and indispensable thing for anyone is their information.

Conclusions

Users increasingly need more resources in technology, that is why systems evolutions arise, and therefore databases, it is impressive to see how information is processed in microseconds, while transactions are carried out at the same time in it database in different places and states, the importance of the information is what has led companies and other institutions to invest for the security of their data, the future of technology is uncertain because some estimated technology projections makes 5 years and projected until the next 10 years are already a reality,Technology advances by leaps and bounds that is why we should not stay behind and bet on new technologies that will undoubtedly make the lives of the people who deal with information security and administration easier.
