The researcher as a popularizer of science and technology

Anonim

Since its origins, man has undergone changes in his thinking, his way of living and it can be said that thanks to research, man makes daily progress possible. Research is defined as a process through the application of the scientific method, it seeks to obtain relevant and reliable information to understand, verify, correct and apply knowledge (Tamayo, 1994), and which is very important since it allows to expand people's knowledge.

The researcher is the person whose main activity is to search for new knowledge. The person who creates or improves something that already exists is considered a researcher. What the researcher is looking for is new scientific and technological knowledge.

The researcher innovates, assimilates information quickly, learns and relearns, formulates and reformulates concepts, proposals and theories, but what role does the researcher have as a disseminator of science and technology? Research as the intentional search for knowledge or, where appropriate, the facilitation of possible solutions to problems of a scientific and technological nature, disseminating science and technology and projecting it as a fundamental part of economic and cultural development.

The popularization tries to extend the scientific knowledge to most of the people giving them a current interest. Scientific and technological research has no reason to exist if it is not disseminated among the different communities.

Knowledge is everyone's right and that is why researchers have the obligation to make the results of their research known, this creates a culture which helps to build man intellectually.

Most of us have access to the knowledge of researchers since the existing means of dissemination are too many today, science is within our reach and knowledge is provided by all.

In order to develop science, it is necessary to observe, create theories, investigate, verify, understand, explain, and ultimately divulge. The researcher is the one who performs all the previous steps. The knowledge of science does not end when the theories are proven, there is in the researcher the duty and the enormous responsibility of the disclosure for the complementation of human thought and knowledge.

Another benefit of scientific dissemination is to create a debate on the knowledge exposed to create opinions and points of view in favor or against what is disclosed, since in this way new theories and explanations for what has been studied can be created and built.

Great examples of the importance of scientific dissemination have been contemplated throughout history, since man began to discover methods, tools, practices, etc., he knew that by sharing it he would grow personally and intellectually, as well as ensure his survival., He knew that everything learned would be developed and complemented and thus knowledge would expand and new methods, new techniques, and so on would be found.

New techniques for the dissemination of knowledge were developed such as meetings in the squares, myths, some writings, thus the methods of dissemination have evolved up to the present day.
