Table of contents:

Achieve skills in diagramming surveys, investigate the reasons that lead a worker to search and stay on the job, make statistical tables, graph and interpret the data obtained

1) Prepare a survey to find out what are the motivations that lead a worker to search and stay in a job taking into account the classification made by Mc Gregor (non-physical and security, b-social and c-egocentric needs)

2) Select a significant sample of the active population and proceed to carry out the planned survey.

3) Diagram a spreadsheet and dump the data obtained in the survey

4) Finally. Classify respondents according to their answers, graph the data obtained according to your preferences and draw a conclusion that allows you to relate motivations and degree of satisfaction of the needs of workers these days.

Introduction

The first step carried out was the preparation of the surveys. In order to elaborate them, certain criteria were taken into account that were adjusted to the subsequent evaluation of the obtained graphics. As for example, the age of an individual can inform us about his needs; marital status and the number of people who depend on it, such as children in certain cases, indicate the amount of money that will be required for their support and satisfaction of basic or physiological needs. The surveyed people are between 17 and 56 years old. Both female and male individuals were surveyed.

Needs classification according to Mc Gregor was also taken into account. This classification includes three types of needs: physical and security (physiological and physical and emotional security), social (love and esteem) and egocentric (fulfillment). The three needs are included in the survey, allocating three questions for each one.

A graph was made for each type of need. They were made in a circular style in order to appreciate the percentages of affirmative and negative responses more clearly. A spreadsheet containing the positive and negative results for each question and the totals for each need were located to the right of each one. The totals were only graphed because special attention will be paid to them at the time of the analysis.

The difficulty that arose during the work was the adequate classification of the questions in the three types of needs.

conclusion

After carefully observing the graphs, several conclusions were found.

Firstly, it should be noted that within the physical and security needs, the individuals showed the majority of disagreement with the health system offered and with the period in which the vacations are granted. Although the graph shows a higher percentage of no than yes, it does not mean that the needs are not satisfied, since question 3 does not give a bad connotation if it is answered with a negative. Therefore the needs mentioned above are met. The fact that question 1 has been answered mostly with a negative is a problem of great importance for workers, given that in a situation of basic need, such as health, no support is received from the business. In my opinion,Companies are taking a bad policy on this issue since if the worker becomes ill and a trained doctor is not available to cure his illness quickly, they are losing production time, which means a loss. The sample of the selected population seems to be sure about keeping their job since question 3 was answered with negative in general. In question 2, the individuals do not show disagreement regarding the time granted for their vacations. Some of them do not have the possibility to choose that time because they carry out jobs in which they are needed at different stages of the year, therefore at times they cannot be dispensed with. This causes the company to decide in their opinion the stage in which they will be awarded.

Secondly, the social needs are clearly satisfied since 75% of the respondents answered affirmatively to the questions, which in this case have a positive connotation. The esteem of esteem is very important for a suitable development in the labor field. If coworkers and bosses recognize the good work of an employee, he or she will feel motivated and encouraged to perform their tasks better and with greater effort. It is also important to consider the work environment in which an employee operates and whether there is a feeling of union between his peers. This is important because if the environment or the relationship between the workers of the company is not favorable, the employee will feel discouraged, and disturbed by the tension situation that he has to live permanently, disconcerting him of his tasks

And finally, egocentric needs are not met, since the predominant responses were negative, which had a negative connotation. Question 7 shows that the majority of employees do not have any participation in the decision making of the company through suggestions, opinions or other methods.

This, together with the low and almost nil possibility of progress in the company, originates in the workers a lack of motivations that allow them to work with desire, ambitions and purposes. If we add to this that the net salary received is not considered as deserved, the employee will have almost no motivation to continue with his work. What happens is that in some cases, even if the operator is not satisfied with his work, he must keep it since he may need the money to support his family.

The data obtained in the surveys in question related to this topic will be presented below:

Data obtained in the surveys

It is observed that 75% of the respondents are single and 67% do not have children, this may be one reason why the majority is satisfied with their salary, given that there is a great possibility that the money raised is only for own ends. Despite the aforementioned, sometimes the salary is not enough to meet the needs. It should be noted that although the salary received meets the needs, it may not represent what is fair and deserved by the worker.

To conclude, we observe that most of the needs are not met, which causes a general demotivation in the workers, producing personal discomfort and harm to the company by not being able to take full advantage of the skills of the employees.
