Strategies to retain human talent

Anonim

On various occasions, businessmen, managers and area managers have asked me the following questions:

How can I retain those people important to my company? How can I identify them with my organization and really feel part of it? o How can I effectively motivate them to fully fulfill the purpose for which they were recruited and selected? All these questions arise from the impact that people have on organizations, and if you realize it, it is not easy to obtain Qualified, Identified and Motivated human resources.

Workers gain knowledge and experience in the work they do, little by little they become more skilled and streamline organizational processes, the more specialized or vital the company is, the function they perform is more essential and therefore we must preserve and take advantage of that potential for the benefit of our company. Based on my experience as an entrepreneur and consultant, I have detailed some strategies to retain that human talent that is so necessary for the success of your organization:

1. Discover the potential of each one of your collaborators, listen to them and dialogue with them, use direct observation, eradicate prejudices regarding your staff. Appreciate the experience and contributions they bring with them.

2. Apply "Empowerment", know how to delegate functions effectively, that is, build confidence in your workers to execute the assigned tasks and train them to optimize them. If they do not have sufficient tools, motivation alone is not effective for achieving the expected results.

3. Encourage the expectations of your employees by promoting in them new goals, projects and functions that avoid monotony at work.

4. Improve coexistence at work, this refers to maintaining a positive Organizational Climate, in which the potential of employees is maximized, avoiding conflicts and rivalries of various kinds in the company.

5. Work in the type of leadership that you exercise in front of your staff, although it is true that human relations are important to generate an adequate work environment in the company, there will be situations that merit a demand, discipline and application of the necessary rules to achieve organizational goals.

6. Optimize your worker's interaction with the work he does, provide him with the tools he needs to improve his work, provide him with adequate environments in which he feels safe and motivated to carry out his activities.

7. Recognize the achievements of your collaborators, reward the success achieved in the programmed results and know how to correct errors intelligently, that is, be fair and use the appropriate ways to refer to them in successes and failures.

8. Transmit the vision of your company to your collaborators in such a way that they project themselves in time as you do and feel they participate in its economic and organizational growth.

9. Maintain a sense of humor despite the pressures and productivity effects this will ease tension and strengthen the bonds of friendship and teamwork that are sorely needed in this time of intense commercial and professional competition.

10. Overcome the communication barriers that may arise in the various areas that the company has, propose fellowship meetings in which integration activities such as sporting events, country walks, festivals, etc. are carried out.

11. Always be willing to listen to the opinions and suggestions of your workers and, if applicable, apply their proposals, it is a good opportunity to retain them and feel that they contribute in an extraordinary way to the success of your company.

12. Detect the bad elements in your human group, they can contaminate the effort you are making to strengthen your organization, finding them causes a change of attitude in them before making the decision to separate them from the company.

13. Plan consistent and attractive salaries depending on the labor market, the activity to be carried out and your budget possibilities, so that the financial compensation meets your needs and expectations. Deliver on everything you promise.

14. Include God in your dialogues with your staff, be an example of values and principles if we want to grow as human beings. Involve your families, that they also feel part of the company.

15. Avoid the corporate ego, make them feel truly important to your company. Not only mention phrases like: “Be proud to work in the company” or “You are very fortunate to work in the company”, but rather “In the company we feel proud that they work with us” or “In the company we feel fortunate to work with you. "

16. Train them constantly according to your operational, motivational and teamwork needs. The key to success in this case is the logic, sequence and follow-up of the topics provided to your staff.

The success of your company depends on the personnel in charge of the activities in your organization. Working with people of different specialties, motivations and abilities is not easy; so we must be vigilant to detect those collaborators who optimize our objectives and thus be able to effectively retain them by applying various strategies. The final question is: How do we intend to be leaders and successful in the business sector in which we develop if the people who collaborate with us are not prepared, identified and motivated regarding the company and the work they do? Attract and retain the right people, prepare and make a difference to your competitors.
