Emotional stupidity and labor relations

Anonim

There are different manifestations of behavior within organizations, which sometimes manifest themselves at the convenience of the same workers, to stay in their jobs, they change their attitude and behavior quickly, which makes them unreliable, because it is not known how they will act later, a person who behaves in a certain way, is known to offer, but a person who does not know how he will act is to be feared, regardless of the negative work environment they create, so it is important to detect them and prevent likely behaviors with the intention of avoid them.

Introduction

The administration and other related areas currently have carried out different studies on human behavior, with the intention of better understanding the development and integration of personnel within organizations, one of these studies refers to emotional stupidity, as a form of understanding such behavior, now it turns out that stupidity in some cases becomes necessary when the organization lacks certain features such as leadership or a chain of command that is not qualified to receive personnel with a lot of initiative or desire to progress because it breaks the development of others, it is somewhat incongruous, but if you consider that in many cases such as some industries in Mexico that lack good training in command positions,Considering that these positions are filled not by capable people but by people who have come to them more out of loyalty or barberism than ability, then this happens, some authors like Douglas Mc Gregor consider it as an inability of people to transmit orders or believe that giving explanations to others lowers the level (Valdez, 2005).

Development:

Stupid people are dangerous because reasonable people find it difficult to imagine and understand stupid behavior. An intelligent person can understand the logic of a bad person since her actions follow a certain model of rationality and seeks to obtain benefits, she is not intelligent enough to imagine methods with which to obtain benefits for herself while also seeking benefits for others, she must.

The vision is not entirely negative, currently young people are in a more competitive market, they belong to a generation with more educational training than the previous ones and they manage other skills that are highly valued by organizations, such as technological mastery and their ability to adapt. This, complemented by stupidity, can increase productivity.

Every person is born with a behavioral predisposition, given their characteristics

genetics, and a character that is molded through learning, however you can also decide how you cope with those personality traits in the face of different events. When decisions lead to results that are totally opposite to what is intended, it is a sign of failure and the way to communicate, when you are the one who protests the most, the more dissatisfied you become and this makes people stupid emotional (Livraghi, 2011).

The degree of stupidity is not associated with any other characteristic of race, sex, nationality or profession, when the activity and movements of a stupid person are absolutely erratic and irrational, it not only makes defense problematic, but also makes any counterattack extremely difficult. The intelligent person knows that he is intelligent, a person who acts badly is aware that he is acting badly in the sense of his own candor, but sometimes the stupid person does not know that he is stupid and this contributes greatly to giving greater strength, incidence and efficacy to its power, stupidity manifests itself in different ways such as:

  • Pride.Vanity.Credulity.Fear.Prejudice, etc.

Sometimes the emotional stupid goes around the world finding who applauds his reasons, in practice a villain is better than an emotional stupid, the first one can calculate his intentions and the stupid is unpredictable because it is not known how he will act, stupidity It is contagious emotional, therefore we must take care of these patients in any environment, be it political, social or family, at some point in life this process can manifest itself in people (Camacho, 2011).

Examples of stupidity are human greed, the love of titles and ceremonies, the complications of bureaucratism, human faith in myths and disbelief in the face of events, religious fanaticism, its absurdities and sexual manias, the tragicomic search for eternal youth, the courage of abandonment, nostalgia for a song or a movie, which recalls the interaction with that something or someone object of desire, disappointment at the lack of love, constant torture in the soul, resentment, hatred, fear, depression, despondency, thirst for revenge, hostility, the inability to let go and forget.

Some are born stupid, others reach the state of stupidity, and there are individuals to whom stupidity attaches itself, most of whom are stupid manifest it not by influence of their ancestors or their contemporaries, but is the result of hard effort staff that induces them to play the role of the fool, for convenience or because they have really achieved that degree, although some excel and as always happens they are the last to know, and one to avoid having problems or compassion refuses to put them on notice (Livraghi, 2011).

People in an environment of functional stupidity produce with more enthusiasm to work to concentrate on work, there is a big difference between being really slow to capture and acting as if you had a few less cards in the deck, the trick is not to play dumb, but rather to learn when to assert superior intelligence and when to hide it.

It must be recognized that in an organization, such as a company, there are conflicts as something inevitable because there are different points of view, different forms of challenges and problems that daily life offers, such conflicts may be due to structural factors or factors associated with the individuals who generate them. These are the most difficult to solve, because in most cases, in any confrontation, there is a so-called win-lose culture, leaving aside other considerations such as the public good, the company, the cost of disagreement, etc.

There are destructive conflicts or those that become a source of learning. And it is these that are really productive, the appearance of a conflict can have important benefits: knowing other points of view, discovering new solutions, becoming aware of necessary changes to undertake and the forced development of one's own skills to take advantage of these benefits.: negotiation, active listening, rapport, etc. (Eumed, 2011).

To manage conflict appropriately, you need a strategy and attitude with a willingness to listen and learn, believe and seek win-win and gain neutrality to separate people from conflict, etc. Emotional intelligence saves, stupidity on the contrary is a bad apple capable of contaminating everything around it, how many people are unable to adjust to reality and decide instead to live within an imaginary fairy tale, of course with the consequence of crashing daily against the wall of misery (Cipolla, 2014).

The addict always carries with him the weight of his emotional stupidity, too much sadness, too much love, too many expectations, everything in his daily life is borderline, his goals are illusory and depend largely on the condescension of others, some behaviors of the emotional stupid:

  1. He is unable to adapt to reality. He lets himself be led by circumstances. He denies his own stupidity. He lives in a world of prejudice (Barragán, 2014). He is too credulous, he adjusts to fairy tales. He is distrustful, he lives constantly Alert. His feelings are generally obsessions. He is jealous, envious and resentful. He is stubborn, even in the face of obvious approaches (Valdez, 2005). He does not have a life project. He undertakes impossible tasks. He demands affection.

A statistic of the stupid way how people relate is the divorce rate, when the perception of situations, people or events is discordant with their own goals and the real conditions of the environment, there is a tendency to react shyly, aggressiveness, mistrust, exaggerated or inappropriate emotional responses; which triggers an emotional awkward reaction, generating rejection and conflict in others (Vallejo, 2007).

Emotional stupidity prevents the communication signals of the other from reasoning adequately, and by becoming a habit affects health, relationships, and daily life, happiness as the absolute goal of life is a paradox in itself, since individuals require of suffering for adequate mental health, frustration, illness and death itself without being aspects that are evaluated in a positive way, must be fully lived within a reality even if there are eventual losses (Livraghi, 2011).

The emotional stupid judges the stupidity of the other, concentrating on the other to avoid observing himself, tends to blame intentional perversity, conspiracy, cunning malice, megalomania, etc. of bad decisions.

Human stupidity when combined with other factors the results are devastating, stupidity dominates the world, which is more than clearly proven, by the way it is governed today (Camacho, 2011).

Fundamental laws of human stupidity:

Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation, however high the quantitative estimate of human stupidity may be, there will always be repeated and recurring surprises due to the fact that:

  1. People considered rational and intelligent in the past turn out to be unequivocally stupid.Day after day, with incessant monotony, it is seen how stubbornly stupid individuals hinder and hinder an activity, who appear unexpectedly and unexpectedly in the least opportune places and at the most inappropriate moments (Livraghi, 2011). The probability that a certain person is stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person. A stupid person is one who causes losses to another person or group of people without obtaining any profit for himself and even incurring losses. The following table shows some characteristics of emotional stupidity, defined by Carlos M. Cipolla.

Table analysis:

  1. Stupid people are dangerous because reasonable people find it difficult to imagine and understand stupid behavior, an intelligent person can understand the logic of the wicked, because their actions can follow a model of rationality in search of benefits. With a stupid person all this is absolutely impossible. There is no rational way to foresee if, when, how and why a stupid person will carry out his perverse attack. Faced with a stupid individual, everyone is completely unarmed (Barragán, 2014). The non-stupid, especially, constantly forget that at any time, place and circumstance, dealing and / or associating with stupid individuals is infallibly manifested as a very costly mistake. The stupid person is the most dangerous type of person that exists.

If all the members of a society were perfect bad, the society would be in a stagnant situation but great disasters would not take place since the benefits of some are the damages of others. Evil is a form of redistribution, although this, by the way, does not create wealth, but when the stupid come into action things change completely. Stupid people cause losses to other people without obtaining any benefit for themselves and, consequently, the entire society is impoverished. Giancarlo Livraghi, formulated the following corollaries from these 5 laws:

  1. In each of the people there is a stupidity factor, which is always greater than assumed (Eumed, 2011). When the stupidity of one person is combined with the stupidity of others, the impact grows geometrically, that is, by multiplication, not addition, of individual stupidity factors. Combining intelligence in different people has less impact than combining stupidity, because non-stupid people always tend to underestimate the power of harm that stupid people have This is because stupidity does not reason, it does not need to think, organize or plan to generate a combined effect, while the transfer and combination of intelligence is a much more complex process. Power tends to place smart bad guys in the tip of the pyramid and they in turnthey tend to favor and protect stupidity and keep genuine intelligence out of their way as much as possible (Valdez, 2005).

Human beings are subject to the power of others, a power is exercised over someone, these situations in which each one has a defined role of authority over a large (or small) number of people, there should be the least amount of power possible; and that whoever has power should be subject to the control of other people: this is the system called democracy, or what in organizations is called division of tasks, collaboration, motivation, commitment, distributed responsibility, authority, bureaucracy, centralization, discipline formal and loyalty (Foucault, 2009).

Many people do not want true freedom. Responsibility is a burden. It is more comfortable to be a passive follower of the decisions of others since it is easier to blame them in case of failure. On the other hand, some people love power, it gives them pleasure and joy. Is it that stupid attitude? Because they dedicate themselves with more energy to the remarkable efforts and sacrifices necessary to have more power and are willing to take risks, these people are the ones to win (Camacho, 2011).

In power there are as many stupid as in the rest of society, people in power have more power than other people, the results of a behavior should not be measured from the point of view of who does things (or does not what it should) but from the point of view of who suffers its effects. Thus, the damage (or the benefit generated) will be different, depending on the number of people affected and the intensity of the consequences of a decision (Cipolla, 2014).

If in a relationship between two equals one person achieves an advantage equivalent to the damage he inflicts on the other, he would be a bad guy on the edge of the smart, while the other is a perfect good guy since the system remains in balance, in an asymmetry of powers., power affects a large number of people, all possible balance is lost, increasing the stupidity factor (Vallejo, 2007).

A person to have power sometimes achieves it inadvertently, in some cases someone is given confidence because they trust that person, in that sense power is attributed to capable, competent people with a strong sense of responsibility, said process can generate intelligent power, a situation in which the chosen people do good to themselves and even more to others, sometimes it can be sacrificed, when people hurt themselves for the good of others (Livraghi, 2011).

The reason lies in the existence of competition for power, in the case of those who do not seek power for themselves, but look after the good of others, have less time, resources and energy to spend in blind conquest power and therefore tend to lose it, those thirsty for power are concentrated in the fight for it, regardless of its effects on society and worse, when they obtain it, they are led to think that they are in power because they are better, more capable, smarter, wiser than the rest of society (Foucault, 2009).

Stupidity and intelligence are measured on the basis of their effects, so it could be concluded that power, as a system, is much more stupid than an ordinary person can be, in all stages of history each ascending country it has an unusual high percentage of intelligent people who try to keep the stupid fraction under control, and who, at the same time, produce profits for themselves and for other members of the community, enough to convert progress into certainty, likewise In any community, stupid individuals are constantly increasing; also in the remaining population, especially among individuals in power, an alarming growth of bad guys with a high percentage of stupidity and among those who are not in power,an equally alarming growth in the number of underprivileged.

Such a change in the composition of the population of the not stupid inevitably reinforces the destructive power and leads the country to its own ruin, reversing this trend is sometimes possible, but requires a combination of very rare factors, such as Convergence of intelligent people capable of assuming power with a collective push to introduce a transcendent change, in a turbulent and vertiginous scenario can offer a lot of space to the power of stupidity, although it is not impossible that it provokes intelligent processes (Barragán, 2014).

Some people use their minds too much to think of unnecessary shortcuts, detours, and turns to face the same issue, when they don't realize that the straight line is the shortest way to everything and the only way you can't show yourself to others. naturally it is the easiest and what today's people have made it the most difficult, making emotional sincerity a real challenge to be overcome by today's man (Eumed, 2011).

The power of stupidity:

A stupid creature doesn't have a precise plan, in the most improbable and unthinkable times and places, there is no rational way to foresee if, when, how and why a stupid creature will carry out its attack. Faced with a stupid individual, one is completely unarmed, since the actions of a stupid person do not conform to the rules of rationality, it stands to reason that they have everything to gain because:

  1. Generally the attack comes by surprise. When the attack is known, it is not possible to organize a rational defense because the attack, in itself, lacks any type of rational structure (Vallejo, 2007).

The fact represents only one more manifestation of their lack of foresight. What is truly surprising is that neither intelligent people nor bandits often recognize the devastating and destructive power of stupidity. It is extremely difficult to explain why this happens. One can only hypothesize that both the smart and the wicked, when approached by stupid individuals, make the mistake of indulging in feelings of complacency and contempt rather than preparing for defense and immediately secreting huge amounts of adrenaline in the face of such a situation. danger.

One of the most common mistakes is to come to believe that a stupid person only hurts himself, but this is nothing more than confusing stupidity for the naivety of the unfortunate, sometimes you can even be tempted to associate with a stupid individual in order to use it to his own advantage. Such a maneuver can only have disastrous effects because:

  1. It is based on a total misunderstanding of the essential nature of stupidity. It gives the stupid person the opportunity to develop their abilities even beyond what was originally supposed. One can be under the illusion that he is manipulating a stupid person and to some extent he may even succeed, but due to the erratic behavior of the stupid one cannot foresee all his actions and reactions and very soon one will be bankrupt and hopelessly destroyed (Livraghi, 2011).

Instead of individual well-being, the well-being of society is taken into account, defined in this context as the algebraic sum of the conditions of individual well-being.

The stupid is more dangerous than the bad, if all the members of a society were perfect bad, the society would be in a stagnant situation but there would be no great disasters and everything would be reduced to massive transfers of wealth and well-being, but when the stupid entered in action things change completely (Eumed, 2011).

Why then do some societies prosper and others go into decline? It depends exclusively on the ability of intelligent individuals to keep the stupid at bay, among those who are not in power, an equally alarming growth in the number of the wretched unwary. Such a change in the population composition of the non-stupid is the one that inevitably reinforces destructive power and leads the country to ruin (Foucault, 2009).

Conclusion:

The only way that an emotional stupid can improve is by letting go of his deepest thoughts, observing the behavior of others in certain situations, of course not others as affected as he is, they are curious as the drugged people who live in a society under the principle of lack they live continuously unsatisfied, comparing what they have with what they would like to have, happiness is based on having and others must see what has been achieved, when a misfortune comes, when they really open their eyes to dependencies and needs created.

Why do you spend so much time thinking about what others think about people or about you, one of the values you have to face to face life, work or any challenge, is freedom, you often find people who recognize that they have low self-esteem, because they do not believe in themselves, but the question is: Could it be that they have a lot of 'depends-esteem'? Is it not that a large part of that self-limitation is generated by what others have made them believe about themselves?
