objective

The objective of this research has been to comment on the experiences in relation to some aspects that have served as a guide for the tutors to improve the work in a general sense, and especially in the characterization of the student, as well as in the planning of different actions of this pedagogical figure, coming to create different values in these students so that they acquire a comprehensive general culture.

Method

They were used as methods: the documentary, when reviewing the scarce literature that exists on the subject, the dialectic and the referative.

Introduction

The universalization of the Teaching constitutes one of the most noble and important programs created by the Revolution in the heat of the Battle of Ideas that since 1999 has been waging all our people.

The approach of the universities to the different territories of the country and the incorporation into them of a large number of young people, who are trained as social workers, art instructors and others, such as the graduates of comprehensive improvement courses, allowing them that today they go to university classrooms and have been able to enroll and even graduate in the humanistic careers that have been offered to them. Similar has happened with those workers of the "Álvaro Reynoso" program who are studying a degree in accounting and in some engineering.

The pedagogical model designed to maintain the continuity of studies of these young people led to a part of the categorized professionals assuming the functions of tutor.

The characteristics of the pedagogical model and of the students who are fed by the enrollments of the municipal university headquarters, have given great importance to the functions that it has, precisely because it is who accompanies them during their career, in order to contribute to their comprehensive preparation, but also advise them in their lives as university students. Here we will present our experiences at the Las Tunas Municipal Office in the law degree.

With the universalization of the university, “The tutor” in the performance of its functions carries out different actions, which vary from one tutor to another. With this work we try to offer a detailed explanation of our experiences, especially those of student characterization, and we suggest how they can be unified, based on different criteria, about the ways and methods used up to now.

Development

Since the birth of the University Venues, professionals as new teachers are constantly being incorporated into our teaching, and many of these provide tutoring services, this presupposes providing general information to each teacher, an activity that is cumbersome due to the broad content of work. of the head of career, due to a problem with bibliographies and since there is no reference to universalization and the new concept of tutor.

In Microsoft® Encarta® 2007. © 1993-2006 Microsoft Corporation defines the word as:

Tutor, ra. (Del lat. Tutor, -ōris). m. and f. Person who exercises guardianship. - 2. Person in charge of guiding the students of a course or subject. - 3. Defender, protector or director in any line. - 4. Person who exercises the functions indicated by the old legislation to the curator. - 5. Cane or stake that is nailed to the foot of a plant to keep it straight in its growth. - have someone tutor. fr. To be incapable to govern its things, or too much spender or riot. U. m. with neg.

In the second meaning (2. Person in charge of guiding the students of a course or subject) gives us a real approach to the figure that we are going to refer to, in our case we integrate it and define it as:

Tutor: Integrative axis of the educational influences system, differentiating it from

Teacher: Facilitator of knowledge and education (Must have and know to influence)

Student: Participation, collaboration and leading role (Comprehensive training, teacher-tutor collaboration) (Leading role: Specialists we are training).

The tutor in this pedagogical model has general and specific functions:

General functions:

  1. Guide to the student Guides the student Supports and helps the student Advises him Motivates him Provides comprehensive educational care that encompasses the other functions.

Specific functions:

  1. Know and characterize the students individually. Identify your problems. Explore their expectations. Know their skills. Know and characterize current job satisfaction and future expectations

Therefore, we consider that these specific functions are the most important, since from them the others can be fulfilled given their interrelation, and the individual strategy so that the student's performance is traced from the diagnosis that is made, but for this the Tutor must know the aspects that allow him to make a characterization as exact as possible of the student in question and in this sense he must start from a personal interview, from which he will obtain all the elements that he must know, of his personal characteristics with its two components, the psychological and the pedagogical.

For the best understanding of this work we have divided it into 2 parts:

  1. The tutor in the Universalization of the University. Experiences of tutoring in the law degree.

The aspects to be developed in this work are:

  1. Qualities that the tutor must meet. Role of the tutor, the role in the Formation of Values, The relationship of the tutor with the teacher and the student, Functions of the tutors. Activities to be carried out to fulfill its functions. Work done in the Law degree at the Tunas Municipal Office.

1. The tutor in the Universalization of the University.

Therefore the tutor is:

  • Educator responsible for integrating the information system: Values and integrating teachers and students in their training. Orientation of the different areas of student training: Mastering to influence problems. Promote personal growth and the development of self-development. Accompany him during the race

Functions of the tutor (See the tutor as his 2nd father) (100% love)

It will attend the student throughout the career, in order to educate and advise him in his life as a university student. It reports directly to the Headquarters Director and works in coordination with the Race Chief.

The universalization tutor is a professional of infinite love who assumes the leadership of the student, who will accompany him throughout his career, in order to educate and advise him in his life as a university student, he must fulfill his role as counselor of the different areas of student training, mastering to influence their problems, must possess communication skills that allow them to establish adequate interpersonal relationships to achieve the educational purposes of their work, and awaken in the student constant motivation for their training process, ethical and empathetic attitude towards students that allows them to achieve acceptance and trust

Teacher-student teacher relationship

Educator responsible for integrating the information system: Values. Teachers and students. (Esp. De N: S. Able to cope with the country's development and other activities, must be able to integrate systems of influence.

  • Promote personal growth and the development of self-development. Master the information and communication technologies of the model and objectives of the study plan. Know the tutoring process. Methods and ways that allow you to meet the student.

Quality, knowledge and capacity of the tutor.

Its main qualities should be the following:

  • Love, commitment as a student driverCommunication skills that allow him to establish adequate interpersonal relationships.Ethical and empathetic attitude towards students that allows him to achieve acceptance and trustKnowing the mentoring process.Master the information and communication technologies of the model and objectives of the Syllabus: Methods and ways to get to know the student

Due to the importance of the educational work of the tutor given the rationality, legitimacy and undeniable need that attend its emergence, as well as the positive dividends and challenges that it already evidences, we consider it appropriate to reflect on the work carried out up to now.

Actions for the fulfillment of its functions

  • Know and characterize the students individually, thus identifying their problems, aptitudes, attitudes, expectations and job satisfaction. Characterization and diagnosis of the student. (It is not characterizing for characterizing, allow to love it through its development. Not solving development problems)

Methods and ways that allow you to meet the student

  • Knows and evaluates the socio-family dimensions. Personal and academic characterization. Identification of their educational needs. You must know about your students:
  1. Attendance and punctuality to programmed activities (Causes, most influencing problems) Form values about the professional's way of acting Coordinate actions to guarantee retention: Higher education problem. Ensure that the student we rescue remains in the classrooms. Achieve that they maintain at least one subject. Teach the student the Skills for working with the Learning to Learn Manual. Help you to select the subjects Other

2. Tutoring experiences in the Law degree

On the characterization of the student depends to a great extent the commitment that the tutor must put in the other functions, and especially the individual strategy to draw for the performance of each student, because knowing him thoroughly, he will have a general idea of how he will face This each of the assigned tasks.

The ways to characterize the student are several, but with this work we only try to address some ways, and aspects that the student must know.

The tutor can meet the student through the diagnosis, formal and / or informal direct interview with the student, with his family, his teachers, his classmates, neighbors (especially CDR and FMC), in addition to direct observation, or in the degree of responsibility with which each planned task is assumed.

The interview should be carried out in such a way that communication between the tutor and the student flows, that it is carried out in an environment of trust, in a slow way and after obtaining their general data, they should exchange about:

  • Your family environment: people with whom you live, those who make up your family nucleus, economic income they receive, material conditions of your home, concerns you may have around your family and that can hinder or hinder your studies. invest free time. How to update the news event. Questions are asked to assess their political-ideological preparation, if appropriate, regardless of whether many are militants. Which motivated them to choose the career. If they know their importance from the social point of view. Job satisfaction and why. Time they have been disconnected from the study and their previous academic performance. Evaluate their Oral expression. Job expectations at the end of the degree. Motivation for the study.

From the obtained result, he will draw up an individual strategy for the performance of each student in which he must not miss:

  • Develop and apply individual educational actions Advise him in relation to general academic aspects Support them in independent study, teaching him adequate methods for the optimal use of available time Search for support in his family setting that allows the time required for self-study.

The ways in which the tutor can check the specific situation of the student, and in particular of each subject enrolled are:

  • Interview with the student himself. The register of comprehensive assistance of the brigade. Interviews with their teachers and / or Head of Career. Verification of the situation in each evaluative cut.

It will coordinate actions to guarantee retention: Higher education problem. To ensure that the student we rescue remains in the classrooms. Make sure that it is maintained with at least one subject.

  • Assist you in the selection of the subjects that you will enroll, depending on your real chances of success, ensuring that you achieve a responsible enrollment. Be aware of your personal problems, advise and support you to face and solve them. Motivate you in relation to your career, meaning its usefulness for the performance of the social function that it will fulfill as a worker. The tutor must be of the specialty of the career that his student studies, to be able to guide him. Exchange with the employers and with the relatives his valuations on the use shown in studies and other aspects of their educational work.

The result of the psycho-pedagogical characterization must be taken into account when preparing the work project for the students prepared by the guide teachers and, together with the tutors, meet them with the group.

The Tutor must closely and systematically follow the integral situation of each student, and exchange with their closest relatives, and in case of being a working student, with their workplace:

  • Directly influencing their state of mind, Convincing the student of the need to prepare and present this subject, they should look for ways, follow closely, guaranteeing the presentation to Consultations, as well as: Try to intensify self-study alone and in a team with their classmates who have this same subject pending.Actively participate in all the analyzes of the teaching process that are carried out in the Headquarters. In each group the Brigade Assembly is carried out monthly, in which an analysis of the integral situation of each student is carried out.Ensure the connection of your students to a company, guaranteeing the realization of your work practice under your supervision and guidance.

The tutor will attend to the student in his own workplace, otherwise he must assign it to another entity, which must be attended by a worker, prior coordination of the tutor, who will become the student's co-tutor, who will lead them In the execution of the Guide to Labor Practice, they will control the work that the students will develop, as well as the discipline and other aspects of the student-work center-University relationship. To carry out this work, they must be governed by the Labor Practice Program oriented by the career stewardship, in the CULT which guides, in addition to the content breakdown, the bibliography and the evaluation system.

At the end of each month, the tutor will report in the student's comprehensive report, the behavior of the student in the Labor Practice, which must include: attendance, discipline, compliance with the objectives according to P-1, and the result of the applied evaluations.

The tutor will offer students the greatest amount of information about the career they study, highlighting their importance and usefulness in the performance of their current functions, explaining how to enrich their knowledge, that is, what the career as a future professional of the right and on what can be taxed to fulfill their functions, since it is our social duty to train them as such.

To motivate them and develop their vocation, integrative internship activities will be carried out in different centers of the judicial sector, but also when they cannot be carried out, as happens with social workers, then activities will be planned in the Court to witness oral trials, in the Prosecutor's Office to review files, observe the fiscal protection of citizen rights, etc.

To the performed functions others can be added, in order to perfect the tutor's work, considering that the tutor can fulfill them and with the way in which they were conceived. We do not deny that in a moment a collective tutoring can be carried out, but it is a matter of the tutor in each encounter with the student exchanging and becoming increasingly known as the cane or the stake at the foot of the plant to keep it straight in its growth (definition tutor page 1)

The work should therefore be systematic and we suggest that students have a tutor from the moment they enter the course and this is maintained until the end, even when they no longer provide content for being overdue subjects, this relationship lasts and is consolidated, allowing The systematic work with the deficiencies that were detected and should not be present in the professionals of the sector such as fraud, the ethics of the professionals, etc., in other words, truly turns the TUTOR into a true student guide.

On the other hand, it seems important to us the participation of students with their tutors in the realization and presentation of scientific works in the events both at headquarters and in the institutions where work practices are carried out, giving a greater opportunity to those who stand out most in important aspect of pedagogical work.

As this figure, he is young in the teaching-educational process, when facing this task, we realize that the information offered has not been enough, which is why we need more pedagogical preparation, especially those who are specialized own and do not have pedagogical expertise, since there is also very little literature available.

Conclusions

In the years that have passed since the beginning of the universalization, the tutor has been an important figure, being the criterion not only of the students, in our performance we have understood what this represents in the educational teaching process for what it is capable of contributing. What is exposed is the experience gained in working with students, considering that it has been a success to have conceived this pedagogical figure that undoubtedly contributes to the formation of values and ultimately to comprehensive training.
