Abstract

This article deals with the use of IT in public educational institutions, the situation of Mexico in the world regarding the use of IT in education, IT-based teaching-learning systems, that of the encyclopedia at the basic level, through the use of Logo in the middle level, until reaching the upper and upper middle levels. Its advantages are to eliminate barriers of time, distance and space in teaching.

Introduction

Information technologies (IT) are developing at a speed that is difficult to follow, it is not easy to make predictions regarding their impact on society in general, even less regarding education The future is full of possibilities and big changes. “With the advent of the Internet, the computer has become a true information tool, at least among students who have fully entered the web of information called WWW, as well as in the daily dialogue of« chat »and the "e-mail". In the case of the university library, its collections have increased immensely, with digital media on CD and more recently, due to the use of digital collections available on the Internet ”. These advancements in IT,specifically in object-oriented programming languages, Artificial Intelligence, Telecommunications and the Internet, they allow constructivist educational systems to be developed using IT to solve the aspects related to the acquisition of information, combining the experiences of the teacher and those of the students to achieve building knowledge.

Development

The chief economist and director of Competitiveness of the World Economic Forum, Augusto López Claros, pointed out that our country is located in the 55th place in the world ranking in the use of Information Technology (IT). And he emphasizes that the greater the use of IT, the more competitive a developing country will be, "so Mexico will have to give greater importance and budget to the development and use of these technologies." He recommended that Mexico focus on education, cut down bureaucracy, strengthen the financial system and promote new Information Technology companies, to strengthen these systems. Likewise, the study reflects that in relation to the quality of education, Mexico ranks 92 out of 115 countries studied. However, López Claros commented Mexico is in sixth place in relation to e-government,which has shortened the gap in the implementation of procedures via the Internet

This data can give us an overview of the importance of implementing IT in education, as the Internet becomes more essential and is part of our daily lives, students will be able to have at their disposal the videos of their courses, from anywhere and at any time, teachers can make these resources available on free distribution platforms such as moodle. To achieve this, adequate motivation and a broader orientation in the use of IT is required, with this there will be no limitation so that in a few minutes you can access any conference on a topic in question, notes, exams, video, audio and / or interactive systems. The teacher has a fundamental role, so that the student obtains the maximum benefit, taking an adequate follow-up of the.Transforming from the classic centralized style, handling only information on a certain topic to experts in various areas with direct interaction with students.

Students are currently motivated with quick stimuli, they are visual / auditory. It is therefore essential to understand that the teacher, through conversation, interactive media and practical examples, rather than emptying knowledge, motivates his students to focus on a topic and experiment with something new to build their own knowledge, learn by building such as marked by Piaget's constructivism and crossing this line to learn by building using the computer as a base, the foundation of Paper's constructionism.

At primary level the use of the encyclomedia for children: “They learn in an effective and fun way, by better understanding the contents of the lessons, they have interactive classes, thanks to demonstrations and activities where they participate together with their teachers and classmates, they become familiar with the use of technologies applied to education, arouses in them the curiosity to investigate on their own and in various sources of information on the topics of the classes, they better understand topics and concepts that are popularly considered difficult, they can create their own educational materials and, in addition, carry out many recreational activities, know museums, archaeological ruins, historical monuments and other places of interest in Mexico and the world without leaving the classroom, and they conceive artistic and cultural expressions as a means to make known ideas, feelings and perceptions about the world that surrounds them ”. It facilitates the understanding of complex or abstract situations such as in mathematics, complements free textbooks helping to understand a phenomenon from different perspectives and interrelates it with the historical context and everyday life. Take advantage of other means of learning (visual and auditory).complements free textbooks helping to understand a phenomenon from different perspectives and interrelates it with the historical context and daily life. In secondary schools, the implementation of Logo in the first instance for drawing and later in algebra and geometry, can lead the student to develop logic skills and problem solving of a superior nature. "Logo programming is clearly an effective means of providing mathematical experiences… When students can experiment with mathematics in various presentations, active intervention becomes the basis of their understanding." Logo programming can help students build more strongly connected knowledge (rather than mechanical chains of rules and definitions) about mathematical topics. So it turns out to be strongly compatible with the standards in Mathematics.

In the upper and upper secondary level, with the use of IT, classrooms will undergo a total metamorphosis, since students are more willing to receive the class with projector cannons and multimedia material or attend open lectures than to the routine of copying a blackboard or listen to a dictation. “Class time will be reduced and will be valuable to the extent of the student's questions, the knowledge transmitted by the teacher, and the conversation generated. At the upper and upper secondary level, implementing interactive classrooms and chats as meeting places, and not a room with traditional chairs with paddles to score ”; the blackboard disappears and is replaced with touch screens or smart boards with the notes available on online learning platforms. Students use: simulators;languages like Logo (created by Papert) to learn math, algebra or programming and; interactive Artificial Intelligence systems to build and own knowledge.

In the little professional experience I have as a teacher at the higher level at the Higher Technological Institute of Los Reyes, I have noticed that the use of slide presentations, animations and videos using the projector can better capture the attention of students than Likewise, the traditional system, with the use of chats to give advice and email to receive work and provide feedback to students, has made better use of effective time in class.

Conclusions

The use of IT is essential to improve the Equation in Mexico, it allows students to have a better education and encourages self-study and constructivist / constructionist learning. It facilitates in them the intellectual, logical development and superior thinking necessary for solving problems. On the other hand, it reduces the social gap that currently exists, cuts time and makes the teaching-learning process more enjoyable for students.
