Introduction

Currently, there is no doubt that tourism is one of the activities with the most important economic growth worldwide. Society and the tourism market demand a continuous and growing effort to improve the quality and competitiveness of services.

When we refer to the specific characteristics of quality, some definitions offered by Soler Grillo, Ortelio 2004 can be used: Includes product (inputs), the process (presentation and consumption) and the relationships between people. It is what determines the value of a product or service. It is a level of excellence. It is the extent to which satisfaction is achieved.

The author also states that quality is in the details at the various points of contact between suppliers and buyers. There are also factors that intervene in the process: Reception, problem solving, quick communication, the beach, the environment, the use of tourist time, the place where the hotel is located, knowledge of the clientele, customer loyalty, coincidence supply demand, the quality of inputs, processes, presentation and consumption. Aesthetics is highly valued by customers.

Quality must be expressed by presentation and maintenance. The decoration, furniture, lingerie, air conditioning, cleaning and others together form the essential points to qualitatively qualify the rooms and outdoor areas of the hotels. Felipe Gallego, Jesús, in his book Hotel management: a new vision, stands out… The better the offer… the more possibilities there will be for the client to feel satisfied and honor us again with his visit… There are different tastes and interests of the Clients, and in tourist accommodation establishments, should pay close attention to aesthetics. Decor applies to private interiors, such as single-family buildings or dwellings, and public interiors, such as concert halls, banks, offices, theaters, restaurants, hotels, and places of worship.

The decorator has a wide range of decorative elements to create different effects, the set of which must be harmonized in a coherent and pleasant scheme. These decorative elements include points of light, colors, fabrics, floor (wall) and wall finishes, accessories and furniture.

Light (natural, artificial or a combination of both) has a considerable influence on the room environment and is a basic element to take into account when choosing colors. Cold colors (blue, green and gray), warm colors (red, yellow and orange), strong and violent colors (red, dark brown, purple and black) and discreet colors (beige and pink) define the atmosphere of a room. Some colors (especially white and cool, light colors) create the illusion of a larger space, while others (such as black and warm, dark colors) seem to reduce it. The texture of upholstery and coverings is another important element. Slate, brick, glass, plaster, varnished wood, linoleum, chintz, damask, linen, silk, and wool all have textures that can be used to create a different effect.

The proportions of a piece of furniture must harmonize with the size of the room and with the other pieces of furniture; Tables and cabinets or wardrobes, in addition to having an aesthetic design, must be adapted (in terms of height and size) to existing sofas and chairs. Lamps should illuminate reading places, provide adequate general lighting, and create special effects at certain points. The decoration of the walls should be at eye level (sitting or standing, as desired) and taking into account the other objects in the room. a) Accommodation: One of the ways of evaluating aesthetics in this process is by following the standards of the room; in other words, how the supplies and equipment are presented: an amenities kit that includes three bath salts (lavender, jasmine and eucalyptus), men's and women's perfume, after shave, paste and brush, shampoo, soap should be placed in the bathroom, sewing kit, comb, bathing cap, nail file and body cream. Martí expressed,… the rooms must be beautiful, not to show them, out of vanity, to visitors, but to live in them…

c) Animation activities: The artistic value of the show, the figures, repertoire, costumes, lights and other elements related to the preparation of the stage is present in each animation show, reflecting the presence of aesthetic activity in all.

In this context, the quality of services is occupying a primary place, associated with the changes that have been taking place in the life of society, becoming a competitive factor for small and medium-sized companies and promoting the use of instruments or tools that allow guarantee quality which can only be achieved in a stable, systematic and continuous way through its proper management.

The new trends in the tourist markets, together with the greater demand from consumers, technological innovations and the latest research related to the quality of services and new styles in decoration, require a constant effort in the planning of new imaginative approaches and solutions for companies in the sector. Hotel companies are a clear example of this need for continuous development of new services and products focused on quality and customer satisfaction. Aesthetics, together with other attributes, influence the complacency of those interested.

The decoration is important considering that it achieves comfort in the rooms and outdoor areas of the establishments, which is nothing more than elegance, excellence, exquisiteness, quality, professionalism, etc. It makes us identify and reflect idiosyncrasy, it is in correspondence with the environment and must be more functional every day, this offers the client comfort.

The current trends in the design of rooms and outdoor areas are increasingly oriented towards simplicity, functionality, austerity, leaving aside ornate shapes and ostentation. Make sure that each Hotel has its own personality.
