Idea generation techniques

INTRODUCTION

In this present work we will talk about the idea generation techniques that the designers or advertising coordinators implement for the project analysis. In each of the techniques it is necessary to have a problem so that later through them the solutions are found, to later implement them.

techniques-of-generation-of-ideas

In the first section, a description of each of the existing techniques for generating ideas will be carried out. As the first technique is the Brainstorm, this technique has its respective characteristics, which will be mentioned later. Then we will talk about the Sketch, this other technique has as its main characteristic that it must be done freehand, one that will be described in the last section will be carried out, that is, the annexes.

The next technique is Mindmaps, this technique as its name says is based on the demonstration of ideas through a mind map. As the next point, there is the Prototype, this technique is characterized by carrying out the elaboration of the project at minute scales, in order to find errors. The last technique is the Storyboard, this is characterized by the realization of a script before the final work, accompanied by images related to the idea.

As the penultimate section, the respective conclusions will be displayed, where the information found will be analyzed, as well as its bibliography. The last point will be the annexes, these will be related to the sketch technique.

BRAINSTORM

The brainstorm is brainstorming, which is one of the techniques of group creativity. This technique is used to carry out projects. It consists in that each one of the members of the group that is carrying out the work, of the greater possible number of ideas -Creative Value- to be able to have more information when choosing one.

A very elementary characteristic that this technique must have is that these ideas that are being given are as brief as possible and that they are objective to what is being done. All ideas are valid, since members should not judge or make fun of the ideas presented. The main objective of the Brainstorm is to "devise solutions to a certain problem or improve existing solutions"

There should always be a coordinator who leads the activity so that discussions are not generated between the participants. A series of steps must be taken for this technique, since you must have control, the steps to follow are the following:

  1. The problem must be presented or explained to the members of the group. The way in which the dynamics will be carried out must be explained. The time that the coordinator deems pertinent will be given for the members to analyze the problem. Each of them In an orderly manner, they have to present their ideas According to what the coordinator has decided, it is how the decision-making will be carried out to see the idea or ideas that will remain or those that are suitable for further analysis, and that this implement.

SKETCH

This technique consists of a quick and simple drawing of the idea that you want to make known. Its main characteristic is that it must be freehand, that is, no professional technical drawing instrument should be used, since if this is used it would be a plan and not a sketch.

The sketch technique is very similar to a sketch, since this is also done freehand and without the help of any instrument. The difference between these drawings is that the sketch must be more defined and with specifications, that is, the sketch must contain the possible measurements of the real figure and this can bear a title if the final idea is directly reflected, as well as that the figure must be more defined than that of the sketch. For example:

The difference between the three shapes of the drawing that has been mentioned is clear in the image.

One of the recommendations that are made, but which will depend on each of the people who put this technique into practice, is that preferably it should not be colored. This is recommended for clarity in the drawing and why the sketch is not the final drawing of the idea. Mindmaps -Value - Creative

It is important to emphasize that the narration of the scene should not explain the images but rather, it should be supporting information. The narration should be as short as possible.

  • Drawing or picture

It is based on drawing what is described. You don't need to be a professional cartoonist to do the storyboard.

An example of a storyboard is shown in the image.

CONCLUSION

The idea generation techniques that the coordinators should use will depend on each one of them and the work or project that they are going to implement. The five techniques are very feasible, since they provide final information, that is, through a debate or -Creative Value- decision-making, the ideas that are most in line with the project objectives are chosen.

In the Brianstorm technique, the ideas of each one of the members of the group are respected, since for this technique the bigger the brainstorming the better. The coordinator is the one who must ensure that there is an order at the time of carrying out the activity and verify that when a member is making their idea known, the others do not exert any kind of mockery.

The sketch technique is very simple and fast to do, since this technique does not need much knowledge to be able to carry it out, nor does it need to be an excellent draftsman to be able to capture the idea. The only requirement that could be had is to present the idea through a clear and precise drawing.

On the other hand, the mindmaps technique is a more creative style since it is a combination of ideas, images and colors, which make the work more attractive and thus generate that people understand the idea that is being presented faster..

The next technique is the prototype, this technique is already carried out more professionally, that is, specialized tools are needed to carry out the idea in the form of small scales. Although it is true that professional tools are not necessarily needed, it is recommended that the prototype be made as similar as possible to the final project, since in this way errors can be corrected more easily and more accurately.

The last technique is that of the storyboard, this technique is based on making a script before the work is finished, that is, making a series of narration of what you want to show, as well as the representative images of what is being wanting to show. For this activity you need a problem or a situation to later translate it through a continuous story of words and images.

The answers to the question that is asked should be noted on a sheet, only the number that is believed to be correct should be noted. -Creative Value-

Which or which are sketches?

ACTIVITY 2

The answers to the question that is asked should be noted on a sheet, only the number that is believed to be correct should be noted.

Which or which are sketches?

ACTIVITY 3 Materials:

  • White sheet -Creative value- PencilLot of imagination

On a white sheet, the ideas for the next problem presented should be drawn.

Problem: The company “Bella” needs to generate ideas for the new fragrance it wants to implement. What is sought is that specialized people of proposals for the shape of the bottle. It is requested that the idea be reflected through the sketch technique. Two ideas must be submitted per designer.

The data that the coordinator provides are the following:

  1. The segment is women 25 - 30 years old The name of the fragrance will be "Passion" Rules:
  • For this activity, there will be approximately 5 minutes for each idea per designer. The ideas presented must be creative. They must be carried out through the sketch method. Finally, the 4 most creative ideas will be chosen.

RESULTS OF ACTIVITY 3

IDEAS PRESENTED (The 4 ideas chosen were the ones with the highest score)

ANSWER TO ACTIVITY 1

As shown and with the information given, figure 3 is a sketch since it is made freehand and has the representative characteristics of the product.

ANSWER TO ACTIVITY 2

As shown in the image, a sketch may also not carry the specifications, that is, the measurements of the idea. The difference is that the sketch is sharper than the sketch.
