As is well known in 2012, important elections will be held throughout the nation, states and municipalities of Mexico, which is why it is vitally important in a historically “poorly managed” country like ours, which we now take enough time to reflect on., analyze and make the best decisions about who we want to govern, based on the candidates who will present us with the different options on the electoral stage. Based on the idea that as citizens we need to make intelligent and reasoned decisions, without letting ourselves be carried away only by the impressive marketing campaigns that are coming or by a party affiliation or passion, a good filter to help us decide is the following: I put to your consideration:
1.- Above all, experience in government management is very important. Find out about the CV of your candidates and compare their experience and training in similar positions to the one you are applying for. What degree or studies do you have and in which areas? What are your powers to manage ?, since it is essential that at the level of government that is have adequate preparation for the position for which it competes. This will give you an idea of their skills, aptitudes, and competencies for the position.
2.- Take a good look at their lifestyle and social status. Are you single or married? Do you have children? Are you stable in your relationships or have you been divorced multiple times? Did you grow up in a traditional, functional, or dysfunctional family? Find out where he studied, where he was born and where he has lived. Who are your friends and what social circles do you frequent? Do you or do you not do sports and / or social work? What religion do you profess or what are your beliefs?
The above will give you more knowledge about their philosophy of life, culture and values, as well as what the ideology or line of their government will be if they are elected.
3.- No less important is to observe their media environment, that is, those people who surround them, since it is very likely that these characters are part of their cabinet. Here we include the people of the party that postulates him and his background, relations with businessmen and his closeness to society. How do you behave in different settings and before different audiences?
If possible, attend an event for each of them and see who follows, if you have security personnel, who are your logistics and support people. So you can see how close he is to people and how he treats his different audiences. If you are patient and listen, or it is false and you are only "posing for the picture." This way you will know who or who will interfere in their decision-making to come to power and how authentic it seems.
4.- He also considers his history as a politician; if the positions you have previously had have been completed and what results you have given; if you have had problems in your party or have changed from one game to another. So you can see if you are facing a reliable candidate and a politician of convictions or simply a "climber" or "chapulín" who jumps from office to office or party to party, regardless of whether he fulfilled his previous commitments and tasks. You will also be able to find out if he has manifested himself as a person of integrity, responsible and honest and, most importantly, committed to citizenship. Or if it is only a "figure" who has been made by marketing and media advertising.
5.- Finally, take the time to really analyze your political platform. If your government proposals are innovative and original or it is a “copy paste” of another. If in addition these are viable or they will simply remain, as in their majority, in campaign promises.
Get together with your circle of friends and do this exercise with them. Listen and give your opinion.
After having considered the above, surely the vote you cast will be a well-addressed vote with the intelligence that we Mexicans require to build a better government and a better Homeland, but above all, and now, well managed.
