Continuous improvement of nursing services processes in public health institutions in Mexico

Anonim

Nursing is considered the science of care in health recovery and rehabilitation processes, being a service area, it is formally committed to the implementation of strategies focused on continuous quality improvement.

Currently in the public health system or national health system (SNS) through the general direction of quality and health education, strategies have been proposed focused on the continuous improvement of quality in the nursing area, the proposal is basically focused on in the implementation or start-up of actions through a clinical practice guide for nursing interventions (GPCE), which represents a tool attached to current regulations and legislation that guides the implementation of nursing processes in an efficient way of according to established foundations. It should be noted that the SNS presents a challenge in the implementation of these alternatives, these alternatives will be developed as long as there is a total commitment on the part of the members of the public health service organizations, the implementation of leadership actions and the deontological principles that govern health personnel.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

In Mexico there is the SNS (national health system), which is responsible for providing public health services through various institutions (ISSSTE, IMSS, SSA, SEDENA, PEMEX, MARINA). Being organizations that provide services within their work agendas is the responsibility of offering a health care service that guarantees the full satisfaction of the users who attend care in the various institutions, however, the SNS through Research studies have shown that there is a significantly high population that has stated that they have not received services such that their needs were satisfied, these results reflect the possibility and open the prospects for change for an improvement in quality through the implementation of efficient strategies. The nursing area is essential in health services, which is why better services are demanded from this hospital area and from which continuous improvement actions are also expected.

QUESTIONS TO ANSWER

Does the SNS have strategies for continuous quality improvement in the nursing area?

Are continuous quality improvement strategies carried out in nursing areas throughout Mexico?

DEVELOPING

The basic actions that characterize the science of nursing are mainly oriented towards recovery and rehabilitation care to improve the well-being of users. In Mexico, the National Health System that represents the institutions in charge of promoting the health service to the beneficiaries maintains a constant struggle in favor of providing comprehensive and quality services in medical care, nursing care and administrative areas.

It is worth mentioning that there are references focused on the care in general of public health services seen from the perspective of users and it is notable that there is a large proportion that disapproves, in effect, that the service in the NHS is of quality, which is why that these and other existing demands towards health care models allow strategies focused on continuous improvement in care processes to be designed in order to obtain user acceptance and satisfaction, which is the goal to be followed by every company service provider.

Nursing is a fundamental element in health care, from my perspective, it is the nurses who, for the most part, have a greater relationship with the care of users during their hospital stay. Without a doubt, nursing is a hospital area that must maintain a total commitment to quality through continuous improvement in the provision of services.

At present, in the SNS through the general direction of quality and education in health, strategies have been developed focused on continuous improvement in nursing actions, one of these options is clinical practice guidelines for nursing interventions (GPCE). The GPCE represents a tool that facilitates the nurse in the search for continuous improvement of the care processes through decision-making in a reflective and critical way, adhering to current regulations and legalities in nursing activities. The GPCE guide, recommends provides guidelines focused on the use and development of patient care plans (PLACES), which represents the scientific analysis of nursing care,In addition to these points, the main objectives of the GPCE are to homogenize nursing care and interventions and reduce the variability of clinical practice in order to obtain the goal of continuous improvement of the quality of care and contribute to the safety of the users. Undoubtedly, in order to develop action programs such as the aforementioned, a series of elements that should characterize organizations are necessary, within these include: the integration and collaboration of company personnel, implementation of leadership, knowledge and skills in the branch of regulations and current legislation, fundamental knowledge of the processes in the attention to users,These elements mostly define the possibility that a health services organization can implement programs aimed at continuous improvement in care, it is worth mentioning that the implementation of the GPCE models is not yet found in all entities of the country, which denotes a challenge for the SNS in terms of the implementation, diagnosis and control of the actions of this type of strategies that are offered in order to obtain the satisfaction of the users in the provision of health services.the diagnosis and control of the actions of this type of strategies that are offered in order to obtain the satisfaction of the users in the provision of health services.the diagnosis and control of the actions of this type of strategies that are offered in order to obtain the satisfaction of the users in the provision of health services.

CONCLUSION

The quality of health services, as stated by Donabedian in his publications on quality in health, is represented through the axes of political strategies, fundamentals and regulations, but above all also that personal disposition that represents values and professional ethics. duty as something necessary when providing care services to users, it has been mentioned in this document about strategies focused on the continuous improvement of quality in health services mainly in nursing, from my perspective it is the personal who most must face the commitment of deontological actions in care,The political actions that seek to improve the health situation are understandable and precise but it will be useless if there are negative factors in the personnel such as the omission of information, negative actions in the search for the efficiency of the care processes, labor apathy In contracting these points, dedication to job performance, implementation of corporate leadership and improvement of processes will allow the good performance of an organization's personnel to obtain continuous improvement in the quality of the services provided.implementation of corporate leadership and the improvement of processes will allow the good performance of the personnel of an organization to obtain continuous improvement in the quality of the services provided.implementation of corporate leadership and the improvement of processes will allow the good performance of the personnel of an organization to obtain continuous improvement in the quality of the services provided.
