Motivation application

Anonim

This article aimed at administration students, administrators and people dedicated to personnel management, intends that together we go through the different theories exposed on «Motivation», in order to locate, whoever is interested, in which is the best theory in its application, so different scenarios and examples are presented with names and non-real times for better understanding.

With this, it is not intended to implant or impose a theory as a basis, but on the contrary, only to make each one known so that each one can conclude which one would best apply to the current situation.

Exposition

When I started studying the theories of "Motivation", only the subject led me to imagine an endless number of scenarios that are lived daily in each of the companies that I know, the first thing to master is the concept of the word Motivation, not only in its literary meaning, but in its intrinsic sense, and monumental personally I consider that motivation is the internal motor factor that drives an individual to carry out any type of act or activity.

But if we talk that it is an engine, it needs fuel to run, it also needs a "Be" to start its operation, that is why we will take this as a reference to talk about Motivation and the theories that generate it.

By culture in my country El Salvador, when a worker is asked what he needs to feel motivated to continue working for the company he works for, his answer is »Money» and compensation is requested for everything he would do, in some cases and in some companies could work, however this requires strict control, because if it does not become a double-edged sword, I remember Selvin, a sporting goods seller, when he was told at work that he had to meet a goal in order to obtain commissions, I accept, and made an effort to meet that goal and on many occasions surpassed them by a wide margin, however on one occasion he did not cancel what was actually his, at that time his motivation fell apart and declined greatly way,so if you plan to use this theory you must plan in advance the means of control of the remuneration.

Another theory says that what motivates an individual is to tell them their weaknesses, or the mistakes they make, this theory is not applied to anyone, you must know very well the person with whom you will use it. Angela was in charge of a store of medium consumption items, oriented to fashion, at a certain point her store declined in sales and when visited by the supervisor, she was called privately to exhort her of the appearance in which the store had dropped., they scolded her in such a way that the employees realized and some of them felt bad, however Angela came out annoyed but challenged and wanting to show that she could improve, the scolded the reason to improve, eye this theory does not work with anyone Angela's employees felt very bad and one of them did not get to work the next day,but she improved the appearance of the store in less than three days and raised her sales.

There is a theory that employees are motivated by their needs, and it could be, one day a young man named Jaime entered a company to work. He had been working for almost eight years in micro companies which did not provide additional benefits to his salary, one day after completing the respective time, he was given the ballot to request his Social Security affiliation number, that day that guy filled his eyes with tears and told his immediate boss that he had never had Social Security, He immediately went to apply for his meat from Social Security and was very happy to the extent of going to the CEO to thank him and he promised the company to work hard, in many cases, usually in people like Jaime, this theory works,When they are offered Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Family Pantry, Private Clinic, Scholarships for Children, and others that meet their primary needs that the salary does not cover, but like the other theories, this does not work in all, since that if a person already has all these needs met, he will not be motivated by one of them.

The last of the cases that I want to mention is that of George, an electronic technical bachelor who applied for a job in a well-known company dedicated to the repair of photocopiers, just the fact of saying work for company X, was of pride among his friends, When I was interviewed, I applied very well, but when I asked him if he had any doubts about the job, he asked, do they have a soccer team in the company?

This boy was motivated by the association, it seems that the association or social life was not shared in the workplace, however this is not the case, since the social is complemented by the work life and the motivation can be generated by aspects of association as in the George's case.

I have presented several real cases, of people and situations that occur daily in many companies, which of them is adapted to the company you run? What theory of motivation would you apply or apply in the cases you live in? Remember you are an administrator and it is your duty to present alternatives and solutions to optimize the human resource and its qualities….

conclusion

In conclusion we will say that »Motivation» does not have a standardized theory of effective application, it will depend on the different scenarios proposed in the different companies. Therefore, it will be the administrator's task to apply the most correct and effective one for each of them, behold the importance of knowing each of the theories put forward by the different administrators. And the fact of believing that one theory is more effective than another will depend exclusively on the exponent of said comment, since, as stated, the motivation is fully circumstantial…
