Holistic education learning

As of April 28, 2007, when I am writing this essay, I am very happy to remember how my learning about holistic education started by Dr. Ramón Gallegos began…

During approximately twelve years of dedicating myself to teaching, I was precisely a teacher of the scientist mechanistic paradigm, a paradigm in which I conceived the student in instrumental terms, as a container that is filled with data and knowledge, and when perceiving it as an object, definitely that there was no subject-subject relationship, now I understand that this distancing and separation dehumanized both of us, both as a guide-teacher and as a student who does not find a meaning of life in what they "teach" in the school.

I have also understood that both actors in the learning process lost our sense of life, which also made us predators of the natural resources of our home on Earth.

In those twelve years, I had within me that desire to feel truly useful as an educator of the new generations, I think that my limitations were also in some way a product of my training, purely mechanistic and because when I developed as a teacher, I repeated the same vicious circle of "training" young people in the scientific materialist paradigm.

Now I understand that when I dreamed of realizing myself as a true guide and support in the learning of my students, which made me feel happy and satisfied with my contribution to humanity, little by little it materialized in a reality, since the holistic vision He came to the community of the technological institute, I remember that he presented at a conference, very attended by the way, but also unfortunately by few understood and accepted, the majority of those who attended said conference attended conditioned, with minds anchored in the conventional mechanistic paradigm Therefore, the message of the new vision was only captured by a few.

Listening to the lecture by Dr. Ramón Gallegos Nava, in which the holistic vision was presented, which included a new science and a new spirituality, based on an understanding of the universe we inhabit and who we are, I was really attracted, I briefly understood that the holistic vision taken to education would be what would give meaning and fulfillment to my existence as a human being, now that the first three semesters of the master's program have passed, I am certain that I have advanced on the path of improving each day as a human being, he carries out his purpose in this life in the service of teaching work.

I really felt very motivated to start learning the holistic vision, I sensed that this was the correct path that would fill this gap of meaning, mainly in my teaching work. I sensed that it would be in the understanding of the holistic vision that would prepare me to have the ability to display all my resources and capabilities that as an integral human being I have to serve my fellow men.

The understanding of the fundamental principle of the holistic vision, which consists of the principle of totality, which states that in the universe of which we are a total part, everything is interconnected with everything else, that all beings are part of a great living network of relationships consisting of wholes and part at the same time, forming systems and subsystems, that my presence as a human being is one with this universe, that my consciousness is part and whole of the consciousness of the universe.

One aspect of my understanding of the holistic view is that the end of mechanistic science is approaching, that humanity is currently in a process of paradigm shift, that we are heading to the new vision initiated by quantum physics and the developments of frontier science, (such as Karl H. Pribam's holographic brain model, Ilya Prigogine's Chaos Theory, Rupert Sheldrake's morphic resonance, James Lovelock's GAIA hypothesis, David Bohm's implicate order, ecological economics Hazel Henderson), developments that constitute the new paradigms, a new revolution in knowledge, which definitely becomes a powerful alternative for humanity to efficiently solve the problems of the present century.

Dr. Ramón Gallegos tells us that it is the holistic vision that bases an ecoeducation, an educational paradigm with which humanity will be transformed in the following aspects:

  • "A shift from the myth of unlimited progress to sustainable equilibrium. A shift in the values of competition to economic cooperation. A shift from desacralization to the re-sacralization of nature. A shift from winners-losers policy to a winners policy -winners-winners. A change from short-term social programs to long-term programs. A change from bureaucratized institutions to conscious organizations. A change from irrational consumerism to a culture of recycling, reusing and reducing. A change of priorities from the quantitative to the qualitative. A change from the scientific as absolute truth to various forms of knowledge as relative truths. A change from the search for contradictions to the search for complementary ones. A change from an educational system for industry to an educational system for life.A shift from fragmented consciousness to the consciousness of the whole. ”

The twelve previous aspects that the new vision comprises, need to be considered in the educational curriculum, because as I already mentioned, it is through the educational process that humanity will be able to transform its current predatory civilization, towards the formation of participatory, democratic and more humane organizations that understand human needs and potential appropriately, integrate systems that work with nature within ecological tolerances. It is here where education based on a holistic vision will achieve training that will allow us to advance towards sustainable stages of human development.

The mission of education for the XXI century, from the perspective of the holistic vision is to fully train the student, in order to develop their intelligence to culminate at the highest level, which is spiritual intelligence.

Based on what has been stated, I want to improve day by day and fulfill my purpose in this human experience that I have had the opportunity to live, referring in this section, to what corresponds my contribution in a noble and gratifying activity as it is teaching, I wish to sow a seed in my students, in my family, friends and with all of the individuals with whom I interact, so that they understand the precariousness of our current reality and that each one of us must contribute to our global responsibility, I wish to be able to influence them in a positive way, with my examples of life, that my actions are based on ecological principles.

I think that by fully understanding and living the vision of holistic education in my teaching work, I will be fulfilling my mission and that it is permanent learning that will allow me to evolve my consciousness to reach second-degree thinking and act with spiritual intelligence.

I feel that I still have a long way to go, but I feel encouraged, with hopes and hopes to continue evolving my spiritual consciousness. What I do is prepare myself hard, without neglecting all my responsibilities and I will continue accumulating and sharing positive life experiences.

I value the love I receive from my colleagues in the master's degree, I also value feeling appreciated in my holistic sangha, I value shared learning in our learning community "Grupo Jalisco".

I learned that the heart and foundation of holistic education is the value of LOVE, I learned that only by compassionately loving every sentient being, I will be able to change my reality and build a new reality free of suffering.

I have learned this little by little, living it, reflecting on my attitudes, my behaviors, behaviors, paying attention to myself, listening to the spirit that manifests itself in everything, in the messages of all the readings and that I have put into constant practice, I learned it by listening to my colleagues from the holistic sangha.

It is also remarkable the spiritual self-knowledge that after almost two years I have achieved, definitely that the introspections that I carry out, both in the scheduled face-to-face sessions, and those that I carry out day by day, have been fundamental actions to achieve the self-knowledge of the being I share with the entire universe, my reflections on my own being have led me little by little, to achieve the development of my equanimity, consciously understand that the divine energy that moves me I share and interact with all other beings that they inhabit our planetary home. That we are all part of the spiritual totality, that therefore, all beings need to be happy, live in harmony and peace.

I describe my spiritual knowledge in the course of my existence, I live my human experience in a more even, calm and happy way, I am satisfied because I sense that there is little to transcend my emotional intelligence and reach to live my spirituality in this human experience, which It will allow me to transform and feel full, based on my spiritual intelligence in the totality of my actions.

The relevant thing about my experience and experiences as a student of the master's degree in holistic education is the knowledge that I have achieved of myself, the clarity of my life goals, I have many reasons to live and be happy.
