Pollution and global warming increasingly serious problems

Anonim

There is currently a strong scientific consensus that the global climate will be significantly altered in the 21st century, as a result of increased concentrations of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides, and chlorofluorocarbons.

These gases are trapping an increasing portion of terrestrial infrared radiation and are expected to increase the planetary temperature by between 1.5 ° C and 4.5 ° C.

In response to this, it is estimated that global precipitation patterns will also change. Although there is general agreement on these conclusions, there is great uncertainty regarding the magnitudes and rates of these changes at regional scales.

The main source of pollution from carbon dioxide emissions is coal-fired power generation plants, as they emit 2.5 billion tons a year. The second main cause is automobiles, which emit almost 1,500 million tons of CO2 per year2.

Based on this information, it is logical to infer that the person directly and indirectly responsible for this environmental problem is the human being, who through his actions increases the levels of pollution and deterioration of the global environment. Some of these direct actions are: The burning of fossil fuels and the cutting and burning of forests, which the only thing they produce on the planet is the release of a greater amount of carbon dioxide.

There are many alternatives or actions to improve this problem, but it should be noted that all of them place a strong emphasis on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Some of these human actions that would improve the current situation may be: exposing toxic gases from cars and industrial factories as little as possible to nature and exchanging the process of deforestation for reforestation.

Despite the fact that the problem is quite advanced at present, if all the inhabitants of planet Earth put a grain of sand and become aware that global warming is serious, the situation will surely improve and the future of the world will take another direction.

The way in which the secretary of the United Nations (UN) Ban Ki-Moon referred to global warming is striking, noting that "the threat is real" and "… I have seen the effects of climate change in Antarctica and in the Amazon with my own eyes ». These phrases support the fact that we are facing a great problem, a threat to the planet, which seems to be irreversible but can be controlled and stopped.

As evidenced so far by this global warming, we must become aware of the importance of caring for our planet, especially our rulers, who are the ones who have the power and the power to make decisions.

Referring to the consequences that this environmental problem could bring, a number of destructive environmental catastrophes are enunciated not only for the physiognomy of the planet as such but also for all life existing on it.

Regarding the direct impact on humans, it can be listed as the closest consequences, the expansion of the area of tropical infectious diseases, floods of coastal terrain and cities, more intense storms, the extinction of countless species of plants and animals, failures in crops in vulnerable areas, increased droughts, etc.

So serious could these effects be as a result of global warming that the Pentagon in the USA carried out a study that concluded that global warming could render large areas of the world uninhabitable and cause enormous shortages of food and water, causing massive emigration and wars.

Apparently, if this were to occur, one could think of global chaos, which would very surely end with the extinction of many animal and plant species. More specifically, it would be the end of one era and the beginning of another in which those who survive will have to adapt to new conditions, as happened with the ice age.

It can be inferred that what has been exposed so far in part is a tug of war for the humanity of the planet, but it is also a way of raising awareness that we are facing a serious environmental problem, which if taken into account can end much of terrestrial life.

The saddest thing of all is that simple human actions can radically stop this environmental problem, but despite this, people turn a blind eye to this threat and each day more contributing a little to the development of this problem of global warming.

How difficult can it be for humanity to reduce energy consumption, avoid the use of chemicals, reduce the toxic waste generated or end the reforestation of trees.

In our opinion, these are very simple and easy actions to be carried out by people and that in turn generate great help and contributions to the fight against global warming.

In short, Global Climate Change is a fact, which is why governments around the world have reacted to this ever-closer threat: serious climate changes that may put their economies in danger.

The only thing that is wanted and asked at the end of this essay is that we all put our hands on our hearts and stop doing harm to the planet, since such damage will affect us only and exclusively. Let us try to correct our actions and we will be sure that we are helping the earth by stopping the development of global warming.
