Intellectual capital and intangibles of the company

Anonim

Large organizations are increasingly convinced that the mathematical equation of competitiveness is their tangible assets (machinery, buildings, facilities, stocks…) plus Intellectual Capital - intangible assets - that have their origin in the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes of the persons.

Intellectual Capital is an intangible asset, which in most cases is not reflected in the financial or accounting statements in organizations and / or companies, but today is the main strategic advantage in companies that underpin the win- win in the new economy.

Therefore, intellectual capital produces internally a very important added value for modern companies and organizations, because it is not only vast to have an entire technological infrastructure, physical, financial capital if we do not have intellectual capital.

Without a doubt, the aspect gives special relevance, for an organization, to the idea of measuring what is its stock of organizational knowledge and analyzing the flows between the different types of knowledge, tacit and explicit, that flow through it plus the tangible will result in the quality of the product and its services.

The sum 2 + 2 + 2 = 6, in the management of the new economy, must give a different result, for example 8 or 12 or more, converted into well-being, productivity, growth, development and competitiveness.

Development

In the new economy, production now has several interpretations, one is that the most strategic for the development of an organization is its Intangible Capital, translated into Intellectual Capital or, failing that, Human Capital + Structural Capital, and the other is its Tangible capital., understood as everything that can be measured (machinery, buildings, facilities, stocks, etc.) and reflected in the balance sheets or accounting books, this combination of factors results in a Mixed Capital of Productivity for other scholars on the topic Total Capital.

The result of the equation: intangible + tangible, is a whole synergistic process that takes a strategic time to achieve a harmonious and sustainable development of both parties, perhaps it is a finding from the point of view of the holistic configurational analysis, the whole has to be systematically interrelated so that this mathematical equation reaches its objective in the medium or long term.

In times of change, management practices are not forever, remember that in management supported with a vision of globalization 2 + 2 + 2 is not 6, the dialectic of innovative processes will be continuously dynamic and changing, just as the vision and the The mission of the organizations must be in constant revision of their philosophy otherwise they would suffer paradigmatic paralysis that would attack the Intangible + Tangible equation: Mixed Capital of productivity, translating this equation into total well-being: for people, the company and / or organization.

If in management 2 + 2 + 2 it can be 4 or a result of 8, or what it should give 6, however, the man in his daily search to perfect his knowledge already knows of his infinity is what he has done 2+ 2 + 2 is not 6, knowledge produces new practices, that is to say, its intangible asset, it always looks for growth formulas for the tangible without excluding what was previously considered an object and today turned into a tactical subject by its strategic tool such as its knowledge, skill and abilities… management and its new practices within the context of globalization, mathematics is not axiomatic, we do not want 2 + 2 + 2 to be 6, the organization wins in productive matters if it is 8, it is good, but if the result is 8 squared would be the archetype, it will surely be in its construction, only its finding is missing.

Intangible capital without fear of being wrong is and will be the infinity of people's knowledge and skills, with the evolution of the new times they are debated with certain intensity and in different environments (academic, business, social, institutional) about the impact and the strategic importance of knowledge in the total value of products and services.

Today we speak naturally about intellectual capital - the value of intangibles, talent, governance and organizational ethics - but a few decades ago no one dared to raise these fundamental aspects, today they are very common in the daily debate on the perfection of human management, to approach the human archetype.

The tactical thing of the sum of the Intangible + Tangible in the new economy is a more than evident fact and to validate its presence it is only enough to look at the intelligent organizations and ask about the content of knowledge in each of the products and services within our reach..

Intellectual capital is located in the domain of the human brain and is therefore tacit by nature and explicit by convenience. The value of the organization in the market will depend on its production and the quality of its products.

For me, the tangible is a quantifiable and the intangible will always be the essence of being together with his interest, knowledge and desire for change.
