Conflict within leadership

Anonim

In life there are many conflicts that we must face daily, from the communities, the companies where they have established strategies or the families that are faced because they do not know how to resolve their differences. Within these conflicts, the emotions that occur within each human being are presented, such as some that could be called the effervescent that exploit the most harmful reactions of people, whether it is anger, discord, anger, envy, screams, and there are other types of emotions that are more hidden or contained within each individual, which can be keeping silent when they must defend themselves against aggression, showing coldness in a borderline situation, and either of these two positions does not allow solving the conflict that it is part of our life.

These two types of feelings are destructive to anyone who has to suffer from it. It produces a great lack of efficiency when solving, whether it occurs within an organization or in a family. Many people when they have to face this type of situation, think that the best posture is to isolate themselves mentally, as if they were a hermit who lives on top of a mountain, but what they do not have in mind is that despite that isolation, their mind continues having that conflict or any other conflict from its past, the mind cannot erase it as if it were the hard drive of a computer, although we would like it to be impossible, we must learn that conflicts must be transformed so that they no longer cause that annoyance or internal pain within each individual.

The big question is how can this type of conflict be addressed? Conflicts exist, they are inevitable and they will not disappear because we do not want to face them. On the contrary, these may increase due to our inability to transform the situation.

Each leader must learn to negotiate in the face of conflict, because without a doubt, you cannot yell at the customer that you do not want to buy a product, force the partners to accept a decision that was made for the benefit of all and do not see beyond the confrontation or yelling at employees to do a job faster. If we took the opposite position, these people would suffer from a lack of negotiation, and relations would surely break in the short term, because nobody has to suffer from the lack of this ability.

People have to learn to resolve issues beyond the identity of the people and the territory they occupy, more and more these concepts are disappearing, they are already related with more intensity.

Currently leading through differences is a need that is expanding more rapidly. The differences in thinking, behavior and needs are increasing between human beings, but this should not determine the leader's behavior.Because a good leader must learn to differentiate himself from the common denominator, which is to negotiate instead of facing others. Organizations expand beyond their borders, have branches in different parts of the world, this leads to their employees having to accept cultural, language and educational differences. But this situation can not only be seen within a company, but can also be seen within the society in which we live. People must move to look for new opportunities, be they economic, educational or social, there you can also see the differences, causing conflicts within a community.

For that reason, leaders must learn to transform these conflicts as part of a new strategy. The world is changing and the way of managing must also change. For many current leaders, the most important challenge is to resolve the differences suffered by their own organization.

Leaders who can cross these dividing lines that are part of the conflict must take this position as a prevailing need at this time. You cannot run any organization, community or family, with the feeling that the world is coming to an end, this behavior is impractical. Leaders are needed who feel part of the conflict, who overcome these differences and who can help the parties work together to find a solution that is totally effective.

Conflict situations exist, but the way to choose to respond to this situation is part of the act of exercising leadership. Leading in conflict situations is extremely vital. It is to approach differences creatively, understanding that the parties involved must reach an original solution. This requires a different capacity on the part of the leader, which is not normally taken into account. Transforming the conflict means that a superficial solution is not taken but that the matter is reached, so that it is not temporary. People involved in this type of conflict go through a process of change that involves applying a different dynamic to reach another level of improvement. Leaders must take a position of commitment and respect, beyond the terrain in which they must perform, using creativity and innovation that solves the conflict, relieving the emotions of the parties involved.
