The diamond of managerial management

Anonim

When assuming a managerial position, we find that there are several aspects that must be taken into account in order to carry out this task successfully.

Among them are four aspects that are explained below:

Personnel Management

It is very likely that a team of people will be assigned to carry out the entrusted task, each one with their own abilities and competences and also with their individual situations, therefore it is the responsibility of the manager to attend to the people, being not only the boss but also his coach, allowing him to develop his skills in each of the tasks he performs.

The manager is then the one who must ensure permanent monitoring of the management of his work team, listen to their requirements, develop actions that allow consolidating a good working environment, establish the profile of the new people that are required and be attentive to solving the concerns of your team.

The Personnel Management is not then the sole responsibility of the Human Management manager, but each of the managers of the organization has the responsibility of knowing the relevant aspects that affect the performance of the people who work with him.

For example: verify the adequate training of personnel, guarantee equity in the workload and their respective compensation, ensure that safety and health and hygiene standards are complied with, recognize their successes and support their initiatives, etc.

The manager then recognizes that although his direction, decisions and effort contribute to the achievement of the results, it is through the people who make up his work team that he will be able to make these results effective.

Resource Management

The managerial work is also identified by the responsibility that one has on resources that can be economic or plant and equipment. They are the means that allow the full development of the entrusted task.

It is then required an adequate planning in the use of these resources, developing a management system that allows making the most of each of the elements available for the development of the task, this point also refers to the proper management and control of the assigned budgets.

The manager must then evaluate if he has all the resources required to be successful in his management, if the budgets are adjusted to the needs, if the equipment is necessary and with the required technology, if he has enough office elements, if the plant or the building respond to the needs of not only the work team but also the clients and / or suppliers that use these spaces, etc.

Management and Responsibilities

The managerial work is characterized by all the series of activities, tasks and actions that must be developed to obtain the expected results, in this sense it is important that the manager establishes an effective work routine.

On many occasions, activism makes the days go by solving many situations that sometimes have no impact and ends in that feeling of frustration that implies showing that all day they were working on many issues but with few results at the end of the day.

Developing an effective work routine has to do precisely with the ability to organize work schedules and maintain them, distribute the different tasks in an orderly manner such as:

  • Properly delegate to the work team Develop effective meetings Respond or return calls in a timely and effective way Respond emails at certain times Executive service to people who visit you, be they customers, suppliers, coworkers, etc.

Another important element in this point of management has to do with the manager's ability to identify the main indicators with which his work is being measured, then develop an adequate program to find the data, process it and convert it into useful information to make decisions. timely and correct in the face of their responsibility.

Impact Results

They are the deliverables of our work. It is the consequence of having managed the people of the work team, of having planned and used the assigned resources and of having developed our work routines.

Results are the raison d'être of managerial management, it is the reason why we are assigned the position and therefore they will have to be adjusted to the expectations of the organization since they depend not only on the increase in productivity but also on they are a significant contribution to the organization's competitiveness against the competition.

The results will then be aligned with corporate objectives and in this way the assigned managerial work can be classified as successful and capable of generating added value in the organization.

I hope that these reflections get closer and closer to the development of managerial skills and allow us to consider the aspects that we can implement from our own day to day.
