The role of business schools in the generation of skills. importance of opposing opinion and research

Anonim

There is no better motivation than someone who writes an article or essay has, at least that is how I think and feel, to understand the value of said text and the influence it exerts on others to motivate the changes that are so much needed. Social purpose of the message I call you.

In truth, the three themes of the title of this article are related to a reality that afflicts us, because so much knowledge is generated, so much study is carried out and little or nothing is done to solve the problems.

I think that we are training people to solve their problems, forgetting the social role. If I feel that I'm fine, if I'm fine; my immediate obligation is to make others be too. Unfortunately there is a great divorce between what we do, develop and obtain, with what others do, develop and obtain. There is no common purpose. No one really teaches us what this means. We're really not okay then!

Under this scheme of ideas, these themes invite us to ask ourselves three basic questions: Are business schools generating skills in their students? Why the opposite opinion and reaction? And what role does research have in this?

There is much criticism today, and this is done to any business school or professional training center in the world, to the results achieved with the skills obtained by its graduates.

Minzbert said that there is a myopia in schools due to the much information they transmit, leaving aside that these become conducts applied to business. This statement is not for less, because the facts today show that behaviors or skills serve to develop their own interests, evade taxes, govern for a few and put aside the majority, irresponsible care of the environment, the irresponsible order of thinking that everything It begins from the outside and not from the inside, the inconsistent way of acting at work and the way of doing it in our homes, among other cases that lead us to believe or question the use of so much training? So much knowledge, so much learning, or in any case, where does all that you learn go?

By the way, this criticism does not pretend to be absolute, it must be recognized that it is not correct to affirm that the investment made by a student participant in a business school does not generate return and it is naive to think that graduates go to market with all the necessary skills to lead competitively an organization. There is an obvious benefit that is obtained but it is also obvious that what is generated is not enough for what is needed.

I think there is a problem in the training that study centers do, including business schools. I know some of these cases closely so I can affirm that their students do not value because they do not. If they did, apply and see the results on a small scale first in their closest environment, from the simplicity of the good act applying what they are taught, that knowledge would make sense; it will generate value and identity with what is known and known. The consequence of this is what I call the route of value, in which the school participant gains authority, empowers him to talk about the issue, thus becoming an independent who develops his initiative and with constant exercise becomes a “ teacher ”on the subject or topic.

Experts believe that there is a skills development process for the successful execution of a task that necessarily follows this order: conceptualization, practice and application.

Faced with so much criticism, schools are reviewing their programs, the methodology they apply, the training curricula, the profile of their graduates, the market situation; This is to be applauded because they seek a greater and better relationship between the supply they make with the labor demand, all this within a real context. You certainly need an articulated system that must work very well. Everything that was learned and trained must be demonstrated with results.
