Introduction:

Our center (Center for Information and Technological Management, CIGET Cienfuegos) is a provincial benchmark for Scientific-Technical Information and Technological Management. The group of accredited Technology Management consultants took on the task of linking the knowledge they had at the center through the experience acquired on the subject of Energy Management with the aim of completing the knowledge cycle but expanding it to other companies in the territory., fundamentally those mainly committed to energy management and the environment.

Knowledge Management is a concept applied in organizations. It has the purpose of transferring knowledge from the place where it is generated to the place where it is going to be used (BA Fuentes, 2010) and involves the development of the necessary competences within organizations to share and use it among its members, thus as to value and assimilate it if it is outside of these.

There are two types of knowledge: tacit and explicit, the first is related to the practical knowledge that people have and that has not been taken in writing on paper and the second is related to the knowledge that has been brought to paper, which is already written in the form of reports, manuals, technologies, etc.

In an organization, for knowledge to flow, it must meet the life cycle shown in the following figure:

Life cycle - Knowledge information

Goals:

  • Manage tacit and explicit knowledge on Energy Management for companies in the territory. From the 4th quarter of 2013 until the end of 2017, a group of territorial entities in coordination with CIGET and DPEP, in particular the energy department, requested the ENERGY MANAGEMENT course, with 25 specialists from the territory passing the same course.

The economic contribution for the implementation of Knowledge Management on Energy Management was given during this period of an entry into CIGET in MN.

The Social Impact generated by this work on Knowledge Management in the field of energy management is aimed at raising awareness among decision-makers and specialists related to this activity, introducing them to their tacit and explicit knowledge of the need to incorporate the energy dimension in Business Management.

The Environmental Impact that this work represented is linked to the saving of energy carriers, improving their energy performance and correspondingly that of the companies that carried out the strategies, by establishing a plan of energy saving measures in the first instance and starting to design their SGEn itself.

CONCLUSIONS:

  1. Despite the efforts that the authorities of the territory and the country are making for energy education in technicians and entrepreneurs, it is evident that there is still a very low level of knowledge in the field of Energy Management. The specialists who received this training are carriers of the Knowledge that multiplies in its companies to all the workers in each one of them. CIGET has a new training service, design, implementation of SGEn that allows significant income for the economy of the center.
