A boss is not one who simply rules. You must be another friend of your employees who collaborates in everything they need to carry out their work, likewise, subordinates will feel confident and respond more vigorously to the tasks to which they were assigned

At some point in our life there has been someone who we directly or indirectly consider to be the boss. We feel that way because it exercises a command that forces us to work in a different way, since we must answer for something that has been assigned to us and for which we must act in a serious and coherent way.

This article will give some parameters about the idea of ​​command and how it manifests itself in the leaders or bosses that exist in an organization creating different types and personalities according to the behaviors that these people present.

To begin with, we can define command as the management that is exercised over someone, seeking to carry out tasks through orders and dispositions; in a company it should be understood not as something that puts pressure on workers, but as the part that collaborates the most to achieve both individual and business objectives.

A boss, therefore, must ensure that his subordinates work in the best way and have all the necessary resources at their disposal when they require them. In addition, they must motivate and stimulate the capacities of each individual, supporting their ideas and highlighting their achievements, to extract from them all the potential they are willing to deliver.

Unfortunately not all bosses follow this purpose. Just as there are some who have the facility to relate to everyone by generating trust, there are others who do not tolerate dealing with their subordinates or simply determine them to feel dominant by seeing them as something that will never be up to their "height".

However, the employee must also do his part to gain this trust and find in his boss an unconditional ally for the achievement of his purposes. Remember that a change in the attitude of one influences that of the other and vice versa.

If the boss observes that his employee works well, the first one will feel good and will continue to fight because that tonic does not change, or if the subordinate feels that his boss treats him badly, the worker will not do his job in the best way to feel hurt, unprotected and without someone to support him.

It is also very important that an employee has a good image of his boss, either because of his prestige or the professional and human conditions that he has always shown. This trust will give security to the employee who will agree with the provisions taken by the boss, who will find an appropriate support climate that will benefit both parties.

The conditions that someone who aspires to command a group must have are those of being responsible with the assigned work, getting into the mind of the subordinate to know their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their aspirations and fears, having administrative and organizational knowledge, etc.. It must also have all the characteristics derived from Emotional Intelligence (article published in past issues).

The boss must lead his employees. He is the one who traces the way forward, dictating what must be done and how it will be done. He also watches that all his orders are carried out being totally impartial. You must be an example in every way for your employees, analyzing that they will strive to imitate your work and leadership.

In short, commanding is not easy. You must also have intellectual abilities that are only found in true bosses. By combining knowledge and skills, individuals are sure to emerge who will successfully lead a group.
