Introduction.

In the communicative system that develops between people on a daily basis, there are different ways of transmitting a message, and in general, speech or verbal expression, only communicates a third of the message that is to be transmitted, therefore, the another two thirds, has to do with the different bodily, psychological, facial characteristics, etc. That is to say, communication itself has a psychological background, where a person, saying the same words, can vary the way in which he transmits a message depending on the forms and ways in which he expresses the words.

Neurolinguistic programming is a pseudoscience in which it tries to model the skills that outstanding people have, to be able to adapt them to an average level, and in the same way it is thought that it helps in the solution of problems such as depressions, phobias, disorders of movements, myopia, and in general psychological situations.

However, this branch of science still has a long way to go, in order to perfect the methods that are followed, and check the effects it has and how it can be applied in the best way. However, the field of application contains all the various possibilities that may arise, since communication is done every day, at all times, and thinking about the field of organizational and business communication, there are still problems and situations, that it is necessary to look for some type of solution or improvement.

Historical background.

These studies were started by John Grinder, who was a great mathematician, gestalist psychotherapist. It began as a study focused on knowing and understanding why some therapists were successful in their treatments. In the research, it can be observed that these people who gave the therapies had in common a certain structure or very similar way of acting, which allowed them to have access to a series of models of communication systems.

Through this form of communication, and the perception that each person has, a representation of reality can be elaborated, to which it is sought to add values and emotions with respect to the experiences that have previously been had, and also having as reference the language processes you have. The aforementioned allows us to conclude that there is no single reality, but rather a reality that is based on the personal approach that each human being perceives, united by culture. Without a doubt, it is worth highlighting one of the central ideas in the definition of the word "illusion", that is, an image suggested by the senses that lacks true reality, and that indicates that many things that a person understands and perceives has to do with their ability to learn, and the experiences he has had throughout his life.

For the researchers, and those who founded the foundations of neurolinguistic programming such as Bandler and Grinder, this is comprised of a methodology called "modeling" as well as in conjunction with certain techniques that come from the first applications made by themselves.

In 1970 the so-called human potential movement was considered an industry that provided a very interesting market for the emergence of NLP. The place where this growth in programming occurred was at the Institute

Esalen which is located in California, in the United States. In this place the ideas of authors such as Perls who had conducted many Gestalt therapy seminars, Satir who was a person with leadership qualities and Bateson, visiting professor, were developed.

But… What is NLP?

There are some definitions or concepts that can expand a person's panorama of neurolinguistic programming, some of the most complete are presented:

It is mentioned as a discipline to learn to change, in a world in constant change. That is why each person is invited to create their own experience space, which is of interest to them. (Or, Connor & Seymour, 1999)

It is mentioned as a way of reflecting on the ideas that one has about people. (García Villaseñor, 1999)

For authors such as Dilts and Zepeda, it represents a term that encompasses three elements with the greatest influence on the production of experiences in human beings. In this way, the neurological system regulates the body's function, at the same time, language determines how people can interact, and how the communication process with others is carried out. In this way, the mental programming of each person determines the characteristics of the reality in which they live. Neuro-linguistic programming describes how the fundamental dynamic that exists between the mind and linguistics and the interaction of both to determine the behavior of a person.

It is a support in the communication method that exists between human beings when it is developed effectively, since it allows to understand and share ideas, thoughts, messages, and information in general with others. It is reflected in the amount of misunderstandings or difficulties in transmitting a message, which makes visible the need to continue improving the methods and forms in which communication is carried out. (Or, Connor & Seymour, 1999)

It is a general and practical scheme that aims to be useful, expanding the options that exist to communicate and get to know each other in a better way.

It can be defined as a discipline of holistic improvement to improve the quality of life in each person, and the way in which he relates or interacts, with himself, with others, with the environment that surrounds him to promote a coexistence based on the respect and harmony.

NLP represents the attitude that the mind takes and the way it interacts with the world around it, which certainly cannot be transported and exemplified in its entirety in a book, in some way, certain factors could be understood and perceived by reading between the lines, but it can be said that, like the world, a musical work is enjoyed listening to it when it is performed, not only when reading the sheet music that is printed in a book.

And without a doubt, the way in which a person buys and associates the events that happen is very different from the way in which another understands it, and then the problem arises, in an organization or in a company. Can you give a message that can be understood or assimilated in a similar way for all the personnel who work? NLP helps to understand how human beings structure individual life experiences, based on the attitude of the mind and a way of being in this world. And indeed, it involves a set of models, skills and techniques to be able to reason and act effectively in situations that arise every day, and the objective it pursues is to discover what is useful and what works, by carrying out tests, in where something works, but is not located correctly, then what is suggested is to change it of place or position until finding the correct way in which its usefulness can be used.

A double foundation for NLP:

  1. A map is not the same as a territory.

What is this? When viewing a map, the brain immediately associates it with physical space that is located somewhere on Earth, however, this has to do with a person's ability to know and understand perceptions of reality. There is only contact with the outside through the sensory systems that the human body has, and with this, “maps” or representations of the reality that surrounds each person can be elaborated and based on this, behavior is determined that it may have and the meaning of the behavior it has. In this way, a limitation for each person is the reality in which they live, and the way in which they interpret the situations that surround them.

  1. Systemic processes such as sale and life.

The processes that occur in each person, and the relationships that may exist between them and the environment that surrounds them, are systemic in nature. It is never possible to totally isolate a part of the whole, and in this way systems can respond to certain principles of "self-organization" in such a natural way that it tends to the optimal states of equilibrium or homeostasis.

It is necessary to have as a basis, the power to distinguish between information and knowledge, since their presence and validity constantly vary between the factors that surround them, the moment they become obsolete has to do with the multidimensional advancement of the world, and the reality that is perceived from it. This form of knowledge is a characteristic of human beings and the way in which they are built, through maps or mental processes, and of course, to be able to build this knowledge it is necessary to have a solid base of information, but that, for itself, it may not become knowledge as such. It can be defined that having knowledge is being able to react or do something new, based on the information that may be stored.

The presuppositions

One aspect that is fundamental to be able to carry out the NLP technique are the so-called “presuppositions” since they are aspects that are “presupposed” as true and that are taken as guides that define the way people act in different environments. that can be developed, all without the need to validate them as universal or absolute truths. These represent resources that will make it possible to optimize the lives of human beings and the way in which they interact with each other, allowing to get the most out of all the models of neurolinguistic programming. To better understand the aforementioned, some operational presuppositions have been mentioned, which are fundamental in the management of the NLP system:

  1. Mind and body are part of the same cybernetic system.

The word "cybernetic" refers to the relationship between the body and the mind, and the way in which these parts interact. In such a way that it is tried to conclude that an element that affects or alters the condition of the body, can also alter the condition of the mind and vice versa, thus having an open communication channel in which information influences continuously.

  1. All behavior has a positive intention.

It refers to the search for a final goal, that is, the conduct or behavior of a person, it will always be focused on the search for its own benefit, therefore, in the eyes of others, the behavior can be seen negatively, if the final objective that you are trying to achieve is not known. NLP clearly distinguishes the intention or purpose of a behavior, providing the means to achieve the established objectives.

  1. All behavior is useful in a certain context.

The way of perceiving the actions that a person performs can be mishandled if the environment is not known, or the factors that alter said actions. The behavior of a person can be classified as illogical, irrational or out of place, but when you see the whole panorama of the environment in which it is presented, the way of seeing that behavior can vary significantly.

  1. People potentially have the resources they need to be able to generate change and conduct themselves effectively and efficiently.

This concept is managed depending on the experiences that each person has had, and the way in which they can perceive the reality in which they exist. One of the tasks of NLP is to be able to rescue the resources that have been generated according to the experience that has been had and install the necessary tools to be able to create them.

  1. The meaning of the form of communication is found in the response sought.

Without a doubt, having communication channels that allow the flow of information in a clear and precise way, is a fundamental characteristic, since the way in which a person can interact with himself and with others depends on it.

  1. People make decisions based on their map of reality, and not on reality itself.

For this reason, NLP emphasizes the way in which people perceive the reality that surrounds them, since people, on many occasions, react or make decisions based on what is generated in their minds, and not on reality. which they face. For this reason, the aforementioned, communication channels must be structured in the best possible way, so as not to alter the information received, with which the maps of reality are built.

  1. There are no failures in the communication process, only forms of feedback are presented.

In this way, if the response obtained is not what was expected, the new flow of information that has been created must be taken advantage of, and try to obtain the maximum usefulness from it.

  1. If it is possible for one person, it is possible for me.

It is a very difficult identification concept to understand in a country like Mexico. This is because in Asian and developed countries, it is a premise to go out and try to innovate something, or generate an improvement in products or services that exist in the market. However, in Mexico, there is a very large factor of apathy and disinterest, in which it is mentioned that "if no one has been able to achieve it, then why am I required to do so?" and without a doubt, it is a very big obstacle, but when it is managed to overcome and move forward, it can generate great benefits and advantages for anyone.

  1. If something is not giving the results obtained, why keep doing it.

This presupposition is focused on the flexibility that one has to be able to achieve the established objectives.

Metamodels.

In NLP it has been possible to verify that the way in which reality is seen and analyzed is very different for each person, since each mind in a different way and based on the experiences that have been had, generates models or maps with which they seek to guide themselves, and perform actions that may allow a person to achieve the objectives that have been set.

However, faced with this ideology, different types of limitation arise, such as:

  • Neurological limitations.

It is believed that the function of the nervous system, the brain and the organs that allow contact with the outside world, in the form of sensors, have the function of eliminating, more developed than that of producing. That is, a kind of filter is created, which allows the analysis and retention of the information that is relevant to the reality in which a person finds himself.

  • Social limitations.

Undoubtedly, in the same way that the information that surrounds a person is lacking, about the environment that surrounds him, in the same way it is necessary to review and analyze, what is the information of importance around the social aspect that one has. Belonging to a culture or a civilization, there is a quantity of data that is stored, but that must be classified, to avoid an over-storage of information, which at the end of everything, is irrelevant.

  • Individual limitations.

They are created due to the experiences that have been had, and in themselves to all the characteristics, physical, psychological, mental or of understanding, with which a person can understand and analyze the environment and the reality that surrounds him.

Conclusion.

NLP is a tool that facilitates the way in which one or more people interact, trying to improve the communication channels that exist, and allowing information to flow in a clearer and more precise way.

Much will depend on the type of person, or people with whom you are dealing, but in generating, NLP is a characteristic that anyone who wants to act as a leader must have and perfect.

Thesis proposal.

Implement a NLP system to facilitate organizational communication of a local company.

Objective.

Carry out an NLP in a company, which improves the communication channels that exist in a company, covering all its departments.
